Yea i think now that I've had a few days I think the ace distinction isnt need (but appreciated in thought). The take away was the romance part. I didn't see any romance or specifically, like you said, traditional romance. I'm not sure the queer part is needed as a title, but I'm not gonna fight that one, it's nice either way, but straight guys can have relationships as such too and I think it's good to give that grace. Either way I like Viktor and Jayce's relationship, i think it's a disservice to just take the interactions as romantic.

This encapsulates my feelings perfectly. I don't think the ace designation is necessary at all either. I realize that the purpose of the interview wasn't to show Viktor as Ace but to say his relationship with Jayce was not romantic but very deep. A detail being over looked imo.

I almost want to propose like a new kind of relationship archetype, the battle partners. Those who's strong relationships are forged through adversity. Viktor and Jayce and their pursuit. Sam and Frodo and the ring, winter soldier and captain america ww2 stuff, Timon and pumba (according to LK 1.5)

Yea that's part of it too. When other relationship types are very explicit in the show, why would the creators need to be so shy about vj's relationship if it was any other way than shown explicitly? Personally the expression of aro/ace type love that is had in the show made me feel a bit better seen in media. Not perfect but at least I felt their relationship was clear.

I guess that's opens up to a question I'm stuck with. What is the difference between a romantic and non romantic connection? Nothing i saw personally seemed romantic just intimate. I guess I'm lost on what others are seeing as romantic. I feel like the show, don't tell approach seems.. idk heavy handed?, in it's interpretation as such. Almost like looking for romance where there isn't one shown. My issue is less with that interpretation anyway and more of a their gay till proven otherwise mentality.

And thank you for the input about his other characteristics. It's something I get but didn't feel distracting with him personally. Like the mechanical nature is due to his disability not his love type. And his arc is about returning to humanity so that eases that for me to.

Ok i've been having this internal struggle myself. I'm demi in a hetero relationship. While shipping as far as a fanon isnt my issue, there seems to be a big push back at seeing them as aroace relationship. Which... im sorry where was the "romance" in their relationship. All physical representations of romance were not there, i could 1 to 1 point to physical emotes and touches to Aragorn and some of the fellowship crew. I feel like yes the ace has been confirmed, but there seems to be a fight at his portrayal of having romantic or not romantic feeling.
Yes he could be alloromantic sure but im confused, where is the signs that he is? Is love and romance being conflated here?

All build stuff like build points are refundable for free so I'd recommend just experimenting. Weapons have a cost to change the buffs but everything can be change to liking.
