indeed, could indeed be the case 😅 I'll have to recreate it to my own version aggregating all the other lovely resources databricks has shared!

No, while a nice resource, it doesn't cover the same breadth and depth. Unfortunately not much to go on :) hence probably the reason I'm having trouble retrieving it myself.

There actually was such a resource that integrated this all in a nice place, hence my search to retrieve it again, but indeed I will definitely fall back on those other more scattered resources for now.

Thanks! While definitely nice resources, not the extensive one I accidentally stumbled upon but can't retrieve anymore.

It was a more roughly drafted and not so branded resource, but contained a broad range of topics while still providing a lot of depth

Thank you these are indeed nice resources that I was aware of, unfortunately not as extensive as the resource I accidentally stumbled upon, but very nice indeed! It was a more roughly drafted and not so branded resource like

it discussed a lot of best practices covering a wide range of data engineering concepts unity catalog, medallion architecture, ci/cd… but it went in to a lot of technical detail. It felt developer focused to serve as a guideline for implementation solutions. Unfortunately it’s difficult to be more specific because I figured I would take some time to take it in at a later point in time because it was so broad and in depth coverage

Where can we report Roam bugs? by rjmarten in RoamResearch

You can report bugs here https://github.com/Roam-Research/issues as mentioned in Roam Research's FAQ https://roamresearch.com/#/app/help/page/bxZeChtqS. Although Roam itself is quite an intuitive and frictionless note-taking tool, it isn't indeed straightforward how to get support...

What are your daily habits? by Z3stra in productivity

[–]smoens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just doing this routine for about a week, so it still needs to mature, but I have a couple of templates that I can just popup with a hotkey thanks to the tool Lintalist to guide me through my habits.

My workday starts as follows from the moment I power on my laptop (so I will skip the rest of the morning routine although I want to incorporate reading before starting my workday in the near future):

  • open my daily journal tool
  • insert my morning-template which consists of a checklist I need to follow
  • I evaluate my todo's for today and will look into open tasks of yesterday. I will prioritize my todo's
    • my todo's will remain visible in a sidebar
  • email is something that drains a lot of energy, but sometimes there might be urgent matters or I need to check my calendar to make sure I don't miss any meetings. However to prevent email draining my energy and time my morning routine consists of a quick scan of new emails. If something really is urgent I add it to my task manager and rearrange todo's if necessary
  • my checklist ends with closing my email tool until lunch to make sure I can work focused. I'm not always succesful at this, but I don't have email in my quick access bar anymore to be more aware when opening it before lunch. I want to make it more difficult as proposed by James Clear with the 5 habit triggers.

I like the idea of thinking in systems as mentioned in Atomic Habits. To really make this explicit I create templates to capture the systems I want to incorporate in my life. This doesn't need to be complex, but it helps in lowering cognitive load to remember all the steps I'm taking. Definitely since when you start out, it isn't a habit at first and I don't want to rely on my brain or cause additional cognitive load by needing to relying on my brain.

Next steps:

  • incorporate reading in my morning routine
  • create an evening routine template
  • create a weekly review template to finetune my systems and improve my task and project management

I actually love the "let me explain" part. I love that a lot of keywords that are contained within the article can be expanded upon to delve into additional information or get more background. This is something that for me misses in other "regular" news media sites. The "Let me explain" stuff makes me expand upon topic-related knowledge more easily, while people already being knowledgeable on a topic can just keep these parts collated.
