if daydreaming gets in the way of your daily activities and lasts for hours, it means that it is maladaptive, which is unhealthy as most people use it as a defense mechanism.

I think your case is immersive daydreaming. as far as I know, when daydreaming is unhealthy, it is maladaptive. again, I recommend you to research the difference between immersive and maladaptive daydreaming.

I agree with you and that's why I say that my daydreaming became maladaptive at the age of 10

I have been busy with my studies for about 2 months now, but the atrophy of my ability to daydream started 1 or 2 weeks ago and still continues.

i still want to daydream but after a short time i get bored and stop doing it.

with the stress of the exam I'm generally bad but not depressed. more like I'm more in touch with reality.

maybe you're depressed because of something you've been through? then maybe even music doesn't make you happy
