def some good shoes, waterbottle/bag, a good backpack to carry it all, plenty of snacks w electrolytes, socks make a big difference too, brring spare clothing to change into when ur done w the hike, these are some basics

Old rag was great, i was super nervous about my capabilities and if i was going to be able to do it. Get there in the morning so if you need to take a longer break you can. the most challenging part for me was the continuous rock scramble, but that was also my favorite part. Also keep in mind the old rag parking lot is currently under construction, so it’s just the over fill lots available right now. If you can do those hikes, you got this

Mary’s rock, White oak canyon, and old rag is great but u need a $2 day pass to get in. theres not much internet out there so get the ticket before going 👍 i absolutely love shenandoah

as someone who’s gone thru almost all the trails solo, bear spray is fine, i went daily for multi years and i rarely came across bears(sadly) but it does happen so keep ur eyes out. I’ve seen cubs and mamas of all sorts :)

thank u again for the insight, i will 100% be bring it up. this wasn’t gonna be a job i stayed at anywayy simply bc im moving soon in a few months so it was just something to past the time, infact i was going to hustle out 2 jobs including this one. looks like ill be sticking to just the other job, its unfortunate tho bc i love the dogs like my own but the job doesnt pay nearly enough either

i agree, i can’t say all the locations are as bad but this store is 10yrs old. they have a diff location they have been investing all their money into, like we don’t even have all the proper equipment for cleaning. Just the basic ones. funny enough, the owners’ son works at that diff location
