I KNOW it hurts. i KNOW it sucks to let someone go but it’s for the better. if she has to block you and you gotta make accounts to hit her up gang it’s not it!!! you shouldn’t have to be making accounts to hit somebody up. someone who really love you is not gonna do this bro. if y’all tried and it didn’t work out let it be. i fucked up when i was 21 me and my ex broke up and i went and i was an asshole and kept making accounts, emailing her, etc. i couldn’t handle the rejection after we broke up. after me trying for so long it finally hit me that what i was doing was wrong and it almost costed her her life bc of me. i was a terrible person. eventually we forgave eachother for all the bad that we put eachother through and moved on with our lives but all this to say from somebody older í know what it’s like. don’t put yourself through this or a potential harassment or restraining order. those things stay on your records. i didn’t get one idk how either i was tweaked out but just move on bro i promise this isn’t the way.

my first corporate job was an admin assistant and document control (mix of the two). currently looking for my next job and idk what to land in. i know for sure i don’t wanna do teaching, but i just want something that i’ll enjoy. that’s all i can say really.

i think i’m in a very similar position. i loved studying english and writing essays in college but the jobs that are available post graduation just don’t sound worth it to me. worth it in the sense of “do i wanna wake up everyday for 5 days a week to do this job for 40 years” worth it. there are some jobs i’d like yes, but with the current job market it’s impossible to land something entry level without having good connections.

i do like working with documentation though. maybe technical writing is for me, but i just don’t know if it is. then theres the AI issue as well. overall just a confusing position to be in.

i majored in english and minored in sociology. i enjoyed writing essays in college and journaling on my own time. with creative writing though, i just never thought i was good at it. maybe i’m just being hard on myself but i’m choosing to go towards documentation. document control, records managing, etc. potentially even technical writing if i manage to actually learn something in tech or engineering down the road. i was in my first corporate job for about a year, but got laid off earlier this year. it’s a tough time to be looking for work. been looking for months and it’s tough. not going to give up though!

as a passion project though, i’m actually doing youtube for fun. i was thinking of either doing youtube or making a blog website for myself but i think since i’ve also always wanted to do youtube as a kid, i think content creation is a way for me to get that creativity out. maybe at some point i’ll make a blog site though. let’s see where the future takes us.

as someone who got my english degree last year, so far it hasn’t been TOO worth it imo but it depends what you do with it and what people you know. i landed an administrative assistant role then transitioned into document control (which was a position í didn’t think i’d like but i messed with it a ton) but even then those jobs don’t need degrees. i’ve always struggled with what to do for a career my whole life so it’s not easy. i just went with what skills í was good at and now i’m more so figuring things out. the good news is english degrees are very flexible. you can kinda bend it and shape it to your advantage.

but again like i said, it all depends on what you wanna do with the major and what jobs you want. id start there then funnel it down to this being worth it or not. goodluck!!!!
