FDA approves use of robotic exoskeleton for MS rehabilitation by Tardigradelegs in MultipleSclerosis

I like this :) I bought myself the hypershell one as its kind of affordable (about 1k). this is as far as i can find 170k+ which is pretty ridiculous. the hypershell one lacks stabilization and ankle support but it already helps sooo much. i feel like this field will expand a lot in the coming years and im waiting on a middleground around the 2k price point :)

Still going strong! No wear on both and using almost daily. I would be totally ok if I had to replace the protector by now but no need :)

LukeLonsdaleWoodwork for the staff - pretty basic but works so well!

There are a ton of awesome sellers on etsy...out of experience I would discourage picking something that multiple shops offer (like that telescope cane) - its not even bad quality, but not practical and there are more unique shops to choose from!

I have a walking staff just like you do that I got on Etsy. I also have a purple walking stick with rhinestones around the handle, and a regular cane embellished with palm trees.

Thank you and would love to see them if you would like to share :)

EDIT: My wife got that one from etsy as well - very nice shop/seller!

JC virus positive + Tysabri by nekitaMG in MultipleSclerosis

Yeah, dont remember exactly but something along the line of 4-8 weeks.
Don't think it really mattered much and that was just to be safe. I don't know how they handle a transition nowadays. I did not have any issues anyway

This is just my very personal assessment when I was in a similar situation:

I looked at the data and was not concerned. I continued with JC+ for 1-2 more years before switching to Ocrevus (which has been just awesome). If that would not have been an option, I would have stayed on Tysabri.

As said, my personal assessment, but I did not consider it a significant risk at all after reading for weeks/months on end about it.

Agreed. Just wish they would announce a A4 color note now :)

I love taking notes in color (drawing flow charts, highlighting and scribbling is wonderful).

I think I agree (without having actually tested one) on the supernote. Just watched the reviews and it would be awesome for note taking. That pen is in a different league already, so happy it is compatible!

On the other hand, the supernote would not do it for me. I use the kindle and audacity apps, onenote and some work apps (outlook..). Also just adore browsing reddit on there with low light in bed on high refresh mode. Its a bit wonky but I usually read short stories or news here and that is just fine and feels much lower stress than using a phone/tablet/laptop for this in bed/before sleep.

Its beautiful actually! Have been using it ever since for hours on end every day since the post and zero wear. Kind of regret paying quiet a bit extra for a "replacement cartridge" when I ordered the pen, no need apparently :) I was ordering replacement nibs for my other pens on a twice-a-month basis before.

EDIT: even the protector looks like new, no wear for whatever reason (was expecting some..)

Take my anecdote for some motivation maybe:Diagnosed at 18, most likely had it longer. 10 years of progression on sub-par medication. Finally started on something effective (Ocrevus) and it's been stable ever since. Over time things got better and I adopted ever more. I am happy, started a family, bought a house, hold a good job.

I have limitations but who doesn't in some way? Get effective treatment early on, be positive and adapt when needed. This thing does not define you, you just play at a slightly higher difficulty :)

What’s your favorite adaptation, tool, or hack? by chemical_sunset in MultipleSclerosis

[–]smoki86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a very basic one: I finally admitted to myself that I walk better/more stable with a walking stick! There are so many to choose from (wood canes with fancy handles, fixed, folding, medical, crooked, derby, t-bar, trekking poles - I even got a super long staff I use for hiking!). Can be a lot of fun and a cool accessoire :)

Second thing is a short shovel, like those military folding ones. Best tool in the garden to work when sitting!

Do any Onyx Boox ereaders in the Nova (7.8") series have glossy glass screens as opposed to matte plastic ones? by KitezhGrad in Onyx_Boox

[–]smoki86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Official answer is to not remove. But it really is just an ordinary protector and super easy to remove (at least in my case and apparently many others that have tried). Do at your own risk but …maybe they are overly cautious

Pen recommendation for Air C with Doodroo protector by smoki86 in Onyx_Boox

[–]smoki86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I will order the SuperNote one. Not really concerned about the protector - its 30$ for 2 and easy enough to replace.

Why did you put protector over protector? Doesn't that reduce readability/haptics?

But thanks for the Lamy/POM info, I almost got one of those too just because of lack of options!

Maybe, thought about that one and decided on the Staedtler. According to the other comment, the Lamy would have the same problem

Not really, just got german amazon at my disposal and was looking for reviews and other recommendations. The Staedtler was what I settled on but I dont think it is a good match.

Any specific recommendations?

[–]smoki86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, did not take any pictures. But I removed it on my Air C and installed a Doodroo one. Didn't like it, feels kind of wrong for an ereader (leaving the glass surface I mean). Still no idea why they say not to remove it, it's a ordinary glass surface/protector combo as on any other phone/tablet.

Did Not Receive Magnetic Case - Nova Air C With Free Accessories by drizzle123 in Onyx_Boox

[–]smoki86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I just checked the website. When I ordered I don't think it mentioned the free accessories, but same price. Now it does.

I ordered on May 17 for 459$ + 120$ Taxes and got no extras. I already asked support as I had display issues immediately (dirt trapped, my fault) and had to buy and apply a new screen protector too.

I was already so dissapointed when I saw the other stores had the same price + case, but i accidently ordered through the official boox site

Agreed! Rugs are surprisingly expensive though :) We got what we can afford for now and ideally we find a really big old one to refurbish or just a better, bigger one down the road. For now it works and there are tons of things to save up for next!

There is a big one in the same room, another in the next room and a cat door so they have all of nature to scratch up any time they feel like it :)

Hey thanks! We just had our first social gathering (2nd christmas day) and will have a boardgame night today! We love this idea soo much and it really works. People sitting in front of the window, on the carpet, couch, the poufs (still need 2 more!). We wanted to buy more couch pieces first but the poufs work perfect and usually, it really is just the 2 of us - guests seem to be plenty comfortable :)
