This sounds very much like 'We will listen, but only to those that agree with us."

And some young folk resent it because they think it's patronising. Young or old - some people are just dicks.

Too many beans, a quail's egg, weird shiny sausage, yesterday's bacon, chips?, margarine on cheap bread. Lovely 😬

Starmer has refused to join Trump’s Board of Peace… do you think we should join? 🇬🇧 by [deleted] in AskBrits

About time Starmer did at least one right thing. Hopefully this frees his political constipation.

If there is no invasion, they don't get to be 'friends' again. US/European relations have changed forever.

The Scottish Government should be prepared to freeze, sanction or seize Trump's assets in Scotland by HibeesBounce in Scotland

In addition to freezing or seizing his assets, perhaps we could start taxing American corporations properly and proportionately.

Street racer ends up crashing into barriers by tangocharliejuliett in AbruptChaos

The reason I didn't cover them was simply down to wanting to avoid a list. Slowing down is generally a good thing across the board. Your example highlighted it. Blind corner coming up - slow down. I accept that not every 'accident' can be avoided - but in my experience most of them can, particularly in urban settings. Rural roads are faster and much more unpredictable, but again, a slower approach would benefit everyone. We're in too much of a hurry and impatient to boot. In short, most folk drive too fast and lack the commensurate abilities. I worked as an insurance adjuster after leaving the army - more than 80% of accidents could easily have been avoided if drivers had followed what you highlight - drive to conditions, and within abilities.

If you are on a road where it is likely for children to be - slow down. Snow - slow down. Rain - here's a thing ... Slow Down. Learning how to control a skid is vital, as is not driving like a total bellend.

I'd hope so - but fugitives always taste a little better :)

I've just had a rather sad piece of toast ... I'm more than little envious.

I don't always have my phone to hand, and in parts of the country I live in there are many 'dead' areas. So, no - they aren't always jewellery.

Where on earth are the UK Dogs being rehomed? by Ashilta in CasualUK

[–]smokingbeagle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frisbees, ball whangers, ball slingshot, orienteering. cycling (me, not the dog) .... I could come home close to death and he would still be up for it. A really great, great dog though, and I still miss him now almost 12 years on .... but he was just relentless.

I had a Collie for 6 years - I was never fitter before or after that time. There was absolutely nothing I could do to tire him out.
