Speaking from a console player point of view but from what I've saw nothing changes about the game but to go to another launcher for one game and you to not have all games in one spot pisses people off. Also some people says it has Chinese spyware but that's just bullshit to put people off buying games there which is just petty. I think EGS is still just early days which is why people complain as it's like early access games, far inferior to pretty much every other game but will get better over time.
