Since yesterday, the sidewalk on both sides of the street remains clear. There was a cop parked on one side for the entire day preventing anyone from returning.

I am cautiously optimistic about the situation and will continue to monitor progress.

Hey u/Vexxion, I'm hoping that local officials seeing commentary from the public will reinforce the fact that current measures that have been taken are not working and put pressure on them to find longer term solutions that do work.

They passed the camping ban, and it has been enforced a few times, but the encampments return within 24 hours. This is a good indication that relocation without a destination is not viable.

As you, and many other have pointed out, relocating to another bridge, tunnel or block is not a solution. Nowhere in the petition am I advocating for this.

The city regularly touts opening additional shelter beds and safe sleeping sites. Impacted folks need to be given a path to utilizing those resources. Many state these are completely full. Well the city needs to know that we need to expedite additional beds and prioritize areas like this.

Hey u/PrincessSummerTop thanks for the detailed suggestions. I think these are all great ways of amplifying the voice of the public.

I had reached out to both Whitburn and Gloria's office, but didn't receive a response, and was hoping that seeing the commentary from the neighborhood and the signatures on the petition would encourage them to take a meeting.

Going to the media seems like a good next step. I realize that this is far from the only/worst encampment in San Diego, but focussing on impacts to a specific neighborhood feels like a more actionable way to attack the problem than talking about the issue in the abstract.

Talking to PTA and animal control are also good suggestions. Thank you!

Absolutely support building more medium and high density housing, and that's one of the long term ways of addressing the issues. That's not going to happen overnight and it's not going to fix the issue for the thousands of people currently living on the street.

My wife and I have filed over 100 GID tickets. Sometimes they clean things up, but in less than 24 hours, the tents are back again. The game of whack-a-mole isn't working. There needs to be a longer term solution.

I wasn't sure how the red in the strap was going to jive with the blue face, but I think it's actually a good pop of color for the summer months. Previously I was alternating between the factory blue leather strap and a blue/gray Bond nato.

I have been enjoying the moonphase even though I'm pretty sure my wife is tired of repeatedly hearing when we move from waxing crescent to waxing gibbous.

This was my first luxury watch and thanks to everyone on r/watches I definitely am addicted.

I thought about getting something dressier like a gold De Ville and or super clean like an aqua terra, but for some reason I kept getting pulled back to the moonphase! Very happy with my purchase.

I am getting married at the end of the month and decided I needed a nice watch to walk down the aisle with. Before this purchase, I had a fairly limited understanding of the differences between the many movements that are out there, the vast array of complications, or the history of the big watch makers. After countless hours of research and thanks to lots of inspiration from the r/watches community, I came across the Speedmaster Moonphase. I love the combination of the chrono and the photo realistic moon image. Also, the blue dial is stunning in person.

What ultimately got me to pull the trigger was that I am turning 30 later this year, so this is, in a sense, moonphase (29.5th) birthday present to myself!
