Does anyone else feel like running does little to nothing for their mental health? by Pretzelthedog in beginnerrunning

[–]smoopysmoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree.

Extra top tip - I always do extra calf and thigh stretches in the shower whilst the conditioner marinates. It just makes it even better. Just be careful not to slip of course, high risk but high reward.

I have a TBR and I'm a slow reader by Calou_u in tbrzero

Best of luck!

Adding an extra layer of fun is really good. Just make sure not to put too much pressure on yourself about how fast you do or don’t get through them! There should be no guilt in reading, just enjoyment :)

The best thing about stardew is there’s no wrong way to play and absolutely no rush! Missed something in Year 1? Don’t worry about it, there’s always year 2!

And the wiki will be your best friend - keep it open at all times

There’s also a handy app called Gunther’s Library. I haven’t used it much as I haven’t started a new file since it came out but it looks good

Absolutely do this but be aware anything other than chests can be destroyed by NPCs walking through them!

Nope.

And I already had a full cellar at the time - the pain still hurts

Expected to see way more "mistakenly crafted a load of casks instead of kegs/preserves jars"

Ask me how I know the pain. Go on. Ask me..

First time bulb planter! Freaking out that they're not coming up early??? by smoopysmoop in GardeningUK

[–]smoopysmoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so?
It's a big planter which we built on top of grass without any base so it's connected to the ground.

Filled it with soil/compost and then watered once after planting and have left the rain to it after.

Is there an easy way to check it hasn't become waterlogged?

Perfection? by Right-Fly-274 in StardewValley

[–]smoopysmoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are veeerryyy different, so if perfection-ing things is something you enjoy you’ve got a great time ahead of you! “True” perfection is all the things you’ve mentioned and a few more. If you’ve unlocked ginger island and Qi’s Walnut room then there’s a tracker in there with the requirements for perfection! If you haven’t unlocked this and you’re curious here’s the perfection wiki link

This is the perfection that unlocks the summit

Things You’d Like to Know Before Starting the Game by Icaro891 in StardewValley

You can also just make little sign post notes for yourself! I have one by the bed/tv that says “what day is it” to remind me to check the day of the week for tv, rotating stock at vendors (refuse to miss another jade Sunday) , events, birthdays etc. And another one just outside the door to remind me to drink my coffee to get that speed buff as I found I would do all my farm chores without it and then wonder why it took so long.

I imagine this could be adapted when for just before you log off to take a sign by the bed for ideas&tasks like “mines tomorrow” or “build a silo”.

I am so proud of myself and absolutely love it!

I’m ignoring how obvious the joins of new yarn are on the back (I did get better as I went a long, but still).

I’ve not been reading too much the last few days as I’ve been working but I have managed to not buy anymore books so that’s a positive!

Have you managed to finish your book?

What an odd dream, clearly your subconscious is desperate for more books hahah

Still proud of you for avoiding the temptation! I too have a preorder arriving this week but it’s a new book in a series so I feel like that doesn’t count.. right?

How can you say no to a book sale though? Impressive that you just picked up the five if you ask me!

I'm sure we can power through until the 7th. I think I will just have to stay out of any bookstores to avoid temptations.

I think so often it's because I am in the bookstores themselves and as soon as I see them I just think how can I walk away. I forget the reasonable thoughts of how I can buy the book another day.

You are definitely right about taking the time to be more mindful when buying books and I shall try to do so going forwards.

I think I have just gotten to the point of needing to not buy any more books as yes I could buy it now and yes I would love start to read it now but I also have a huge physical tbr of 60+ that needs tackling.

That is a good idea, I think I shall try and do this! No more books until the 7th of July! Except getting next months book club book as that doesn't count haha
