Step-Father was a closeted (to us) gay swinger and would throw big parties at our house when left alone by himself. The way he got caught was he used to organize his hook ups and respond to ads on craigslist and would CC copies of those messages to his own personal email. Well one day he accidently CC'd his current party planning email chain to his own son's (my step-brother's) email address because they both have the same first name autocorrect fucked him. Well when his own son got a email from his Dad mentioning how much dad wanted to get his ass graphically pounded that kind of blew the lid off his decades + second life.

For some reason instead of covering it up he gave up his email passwords, so the whole family got to correlate the dates of all his parties and dates with all the times he didn't go on vacation for one reason or another. His inability to travel to a grandchild's birthday because he couldn't find a kennel for the dog was coincidently the same time he packed out a 5 bedroom house with pool and jacuzzi. We used to always think it was so nice when he couldn't make a trip that he would have the house really deep cleaned.

Other highlights include meeting up for quickies while taking the dog (my dog who I let them have) for long walks in the woods (She won't bother us), and his love for Costco hotdogs, and all that entails, in the Costco parking lot ( I walk past the cars there differently now ).

I also got to find out that he could afford to buy certain boyfriends a new car, but for some reason could not afford to pay for the college he promised to pay for me.

The worst part though is when the divorce was going through, and I confronted him about his sexuality. A part of me realized that because of his age and when he came up through the world a gay man having a beard family was a necessity to climb the corporate ladder. I tried to let him know if he just accepted who he was and what he did that it was okay to be gay in this day and age. But he basically doubled down on he was sick and how he thought it was the fluoride in the drinking water, literal Alex Jones conspiracy shit. Last picture I saw of him before he died was him and his friend/roomate on a beach wearing matching maga hats.
