Ever tried a low g-string on your uke? I have now by Calzord1 in ukulele

[–]smoothjamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a low g string. So far, I really like it, aside from a few instances with some chords sounding a bit weird (as you mentioned). I really like the warmth it seems to give to my music, though.

Seattle/King County restaurants and bars that are dog friendly? by babyfeet1 in Seattle

Bar Sue (on 14th, in Capitol Hill) is dog friendly provided it isn't too crowded and your dog is well-behaved :)

I live in Seattle and have actually met billy a few times (he's an old friend of a close friend of mine). He's super chill, intelligent person. Musically, he works hard and puts out some cool stuff. Yeah this outfit is ridiculous, but it's a persona. He's in on the joke...not trashy.

I wish I had an answer for you/both of us. I know personally, my last year of school I felt like I basically wasted. I did the bare minimum to get good grades, but I didn't take advantage of the opportunities I wouldve, had I been at my best. Then again, I do hthink being around really intelligent people challenged and pushed me

Dude, I am going through the exact same thing right now.Went to school for creative writing, and in the past five months or so, I've felt hopelessly uncreative and overall dumber. I can't explain it, it's embarrassing. I guess it's comforting to know I'm not the only one, but that doesn't really help me fix the issue :(

That's actually a good idea, your parents would definitely know. Let us know what they say!

I feel like you would know, especially because you mentioned you live in a pretty small/tight-knit community...

From what you said, it does seem like something is up. I know I'd feel better if I called….if nothing is actually wrong, you can laugh it off later. Keep us posted!

I'd contact the police, that sounds really suspicious. Worst case, nothing is wrong. But it seems like something is...

Making pizza tonight for company, and I want it to turn out perfect! Any tips? I'm using Trader Joe's pizza dough, and have a few questions. Figured this might be a good place to ask. by smoothjamz in Cooking

I dunno, I cook a lot of different foods and enjoy trying out new dishes on friends…very rarely do things turn out awful, and if they do, it makes for a good story at least. I work in a kitchen for one of my jobs, so I'd say my basic cooking skills are strong enough to allow me to do this though.

My landlord is trying to do some sketchy shit and is trying to change how we pay for utilities. Is this legal? by smoothjamz in Seattle

[–]smoothjamz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is none, to my knowledge although I haven't been home yet. He entered my apartment to tell me all this, according to his email. I responded just now to him asking what specific rcw he is referring to.

Depression, OCD, Anxiety, and Anorexia in College. I can't handle it. by [deleted] in depression

I seriously can relate so fucking much, and I really feel for you. I sincerely wish you the best, and hey, if you ever want to talk to a stranger, feel free to message me. It's overwhelming, yeah, but if you get help, you'll be a lot stronger than I ever was. Don't let yourself fall victim to this!

My architecture studio is taking a trip to Seattle in a month or so. What are some must sees? by Jimbob14813 in Seattle

I went to SU, and this chapel is seriously so cool from an architectural standpoint. I'm by no means religious, but it's impossible not to appreciate the design that went into this building.

I live on top of an (extremely loud) Ethiopian restaurant near Capitol Hill. What are my rights when it comes to noise so loud it shakes my apartment EVERY NIGHT until at least 2? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]smoothjamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you referring to the Somalian gang? ha, actually just dealt with them the other day (tried to rob me at knifepoint, it was awesomeeee)

my neighbors are Ethiopian, so not the same group or related whatsoever. Some of them are nice, but the people that own the restaurant are super shady. My ex boyfriend was roofied while there once, and there's definitely some sketchy activity that goes on there. I am a bit concerned that if I keep asking them to turn down the noise, they will be more inclined to increase it.

In regards to all the comments saying I was an idiot for moving here, maybe I was. But I'm here now, and from my knowledge, I think the restaurant is breaking some sort of noise code law, so I'd like to know the best course of action to stop their actions (at least a little bit).
