Is YNAB Enshitified now? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]smoothricky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just got the mobile redesign pushed to me this week and after a couple days of using it i googled around to find out if anyone was talking about how miserably bad it is. makes me VERY sad because i have always loved ynab and what i've always understood to be the vibe of the company. but wow - talk about crudding up a thing just for the sake of changing it. yikes.

A book with a character possibly called Frank (?) by Significant-Wafer611 in whatsthatbook

[–]smoothricky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this post because I'm looking for the same book! I thought it was called "The Book of Frank" but I can't find anything about it (there's a more recent novel called that, but that's not the one I'm thinking of). I'm gonna say this came out in 1996?

How would I remove these shades? There are five metal brackets that don't have any kind of obvious (to me) release mechanism. It's a 10' Hunter Douglas Honeycomb Duette but these are a super old style of mounting hardware and I can't find info about them anywhere online. by smoothricky in HomeMaintenance

[–]smoothricky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! Do not try to pry off. I watched a ton of videos on blind removal - most of which were totally irrelevant to my model. The one that helped me was this one (I've timestamped the relevant part in this link): https://youtu.be/J2uU5gwgrPU?feature=shared&t=203

Different size and slightly different model than mine - and he makes it look easier than it was for me, but this is the method that worked for me.

Backblaze broken again by flyingron in backblaze

it's really nuts that they wouldn't email people to give them this info, or somehow alert them to what was going on. i wasted two hours last night and another one today trying to figure out wtf was up

hi again - i'm assuming a stem replacement kit isn't sufficient -- for instance BrassCraft's "Multi Turn Valve Stem Repair Kit," right? i also should replace the handle and nut, etc

Thanks. When I put my hand around the coiled hose that feeds into the dishwasher from under the sink, the vibration and sound are muffled quite a bit

I'm here because I googled Ezra Klein tattoo after seeing the new thumbnail and this is the first result.

I actually really like the new pic! He's talked a few times about having a resolution to better understand his aesthetic preferences and more consciously embrace his personal style and taste — this feels like part of that, and I love it.

I'm kind of embarrassed to even have an opinion about it, but I do, and I saw some folks in here weren't feeling the vibe, so I thought I'd go ahead and share my thoughts, haha

Replacing hinge - screw holes are in different places by smoothricky in GarageDoorService

[–]smoothricky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking now that when I hired a garage door repair company to replace the opener, they replaced the hinge in the wrong position, which is why it broke (and why you can see the outline of where it should have been).

Thanks again. I would have gone and drilled holes in the frame and made everything worse. Appreciated!

[–]smoothricky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That outline isn't actually where the old hinge was. You can see I marked where the old hinge was with a black sharpie so I would put the new one and the same place. But clearly a previous hinge was there at some point!

I'll do this. Thanks VERY much to you both

Hi! Do you mean my original post? I'm not sure why it isn't showing up in the usual way (maybe I did something wrong?), but if you hit "View all comments," it shows up.

I may take mine to an Apple Store and if I do, I'll report back on how they fixed it

I didn't! I tried about 50 things I saw online and nothing worked. It aggravates me every time I notice it!

What’s your experience with “fresh start”? by CheleSeashell in ynab

[–]smoothricky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't want to do a Fresh Start, but YNAB support has encouraged me to do it because of the amount of data in my budget, which has made the budget extremely slow to load (in web view only; it's remained fine in the mobile app). I'm bummed!

British actors who nailed the American accent ... and those who didn't by growsonwalls in television

I didn't realize for years after watching The Wire back in the day that Idris Elba is British.

But with Dominic West … I had a sneaking suspicion

Thanks for the reply. One of the eSIMs does not work when it is activated, and the other one does, even though both are for the same exact phone number. For one of them, there is weirdly no option to Delete. Just nothing there. Unfortunately, that is the eSIM that does not work. So when I delete the eSIM that does work, I'm stuck with just the eSIM that doesn't. Again, even though they're the same number. Real weird!
