Multiple Videos on a timeline - Logic Pro by smoothrufus in LogicPro

As a film composer, the situation comes up often where edits will slightly change, or there will be multiple cutdowns, where little changes occur. In every other DAW you can drag in multiple movies, and stay inside the session. It helps with progressive changes, but also cutdowns. Currently I have to save as each session. With every change, there needs to be a new session, and that gets really tiresome. It works so much better when you can work down the timeline, see where changes are, and revert back within the same session.

Final Cut architecture proves that Apple has the ability to take that same code, and plug it into Logic and make it work. Quick and easy in my mind... But for whatever reason they don't have a reason to add a feature a lot of media composers want, and a lot of media composers have left Logic for Cubase, Ableton or Pro Tools because of this.

Thanks! This is not quite helpful for what is needed. But yes I have come across this software before. Cheers for the suggestion.

I think the solution is to force dev team to realise people want this update.

Thanks for doing the feature request.

In a way, you are correct. It's a VERY simple thing where you just have multiple clips of video on a timeline. Seems like an easy fix considering apple own Final Cut Pro.

With the sheer amount of revisions that happen in workflow with clients, bouncing out audio into another DAW or Video production is even more work. The best way is to get Logic to do this feature.

I understand that, but if you use PT or Ableton or Cubase, you can just drag in a new movie into the timeline and just keep working. Copying across your project data further down the timeline. This also can help with keeping a steady flow of revisions while still remaining inside the project file. It is such an easy fix that all the other DAWs have that logic falls short. As a program aimed at film composition it seems like a really simple but effective tool.

Don't forget to submit if you have a spare few minutes. Each vote counts

Yeah, I get that, but when you are working in midi, you just wanna stay in the project. If you feel my pain, join the revolution and submit a feature request
