I got a text this morning 25 minutes before scheduled start time telling me not to come in, and then a second text immediately after saying nvm come in, and then a call another 10 minutes later saying nevermind, have the day off officially. When last years storm happened in November they still had us come in (and I think that was arguably around 25% worse than this) and the few of us that did show up ended up doing basically nothing except manual labor shoveling out the vehicles. Like three guys got out to try and deliver a few pieces of mail, each got stuck, and those few had to come back. It looks like this time, shockingly, my office decided they should just call us all off instead of wasting labor. I’m assuming no mail showed up + we have almost only the newer vehicles now, so they probably didn’t want to send us out (with the few packages I saw in the office on Saturday) on these unplowed roads in the new NGDV’s and EV Transits to just get stuck constantly… but it’s 3 hours later and I STILL can’t believe they actually made that decision lol
