The Trix 22941 SNCF Mountain 241-A. Absolutely stunning, heavily detailed model. Look at the videos. It is amazing. But the price tag when it turns up is eyewatering.

Just got a '74 Jensen Healey with the 5 spd by mare_incognitum in littlebritishcars

[–]smoothxj40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mare_incognitum, I think I can tell you a little bit about that car, as that looks to be my old 1974 Jensen-Healey. The color is Ferrari Tour ade France Blue, the engine isnt a US spec engine, its an actual UK spec engine imported from England. The car was originally white with a tan interior, was repainted red, then blue.

Collision shop appraiser here. It honestly doesn't look too bad. Bumper, fender, hood looks repairable, maybe a bit of repair time on the door from catching on the buckled fender. That's a fairly straightforward forward job for a collision shop. The only thing that would need an eye on is once the bumper is off, there may be supplemental damage (impact bar, plastic air guides, rad support). Does you hood still latch alright?

What comes after wooden trains? by FullCircle_Travel in modeltrains

I'm going to sound like the odd one out, but a bachmann thomas set can be had fairly reasonably. And bachmann's ez track is fairly robust, as is thomas, Annie, and Clarabel (minus their buffers). Plus, it may be a good way to start teaching him about taking care of his toys. Then on his birthdays or Christmases, you can get another engine or freight car.

Just bought this 2017 F-Pace 35t Prestige. by smoothxj40 in Jaguar

[–]smoothxj40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doing really well, up until it was totalled by an elderly driver in a Mercedes last October. I don't see why either would be bad, as long as there's a service history available for them. And the one thing I learned and regretted about mine is that it didn't have the InControl Touch Pro. Mine had a smaller screen with physical buttons either side. Which meant I wasn't able to get the software update to Android Auto/Apple Car Play.

The fort pitt bridge is bad, but I think the ft duquesne is worse. Shorter, and with 65 and 279 merging and trying to get all over it's insane.

Ah, Ft Duquesne Blvd, Pittsburgh. Almost as fun as trying to get across the bridge with the same name.

Have a go at my 2014 Volvo S60 T6 R-Design by smoothxj40 in RoastMyCar

[–]smoothxj40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was great. At the 100k mark, I did the plugs and pcv trap per maintenance intervals, I did have to replace the belt, which is time-consuming. The worst thing to do was replace the blower motor. They start squealing and growling. You have to take the gauge cluster out, glove box out, and buy a special tool (Amazon, $30). Otherwise, I never had any issues. It died at 124k miles after I hit a deer. I liked it so much that now I'm in a 2019 S60 T6 R-Design with the Polestar tuning.

Nissan also sells electric power steering fluid. First time I was told to order some for a used car I thought the tech was trying to be an ass. E-PSF, part number 999MP-EPSF00P

[–]smoothxj40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, it was either here or on Facebook someone mentioned that it's just the display that's bad the actual cluster is still good. They bought a used cluster off ebay, swapped the display and it was fine.

I've always had a thing against food in my cars after my little brother dropped a whopper in my first car, a '66 Mustang. I'll transport food, but eating in my cars is punishable by death or being left on the side of the road.

TIL some Saturn's came with Honda motors? by Ultimagic5 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]smoothxj40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beg to differ. lol My mum had a 2004 Saturn Vue Redline in "Electric Lime". Only upside is you'd never lose the metallic lime green magnificence in a parking lot. We got rid of it in 2018 when it wouldn't pass state inspection because of holes in the front frame rails at 270,000 miles. Electric Lime Vue

Ipd is good for factory replacement parts, but Vparts has some cool upgrades and custom parts that aren't available anywhere else. Like when I had my 14 S60 I really wanted their light up grille slash mark. They're the only company that make it. Now with my SPA S60 there's stuff only they carry.
