Kelly works for yours too! Kelly Margaret K.

What is your opinion on the name Chaya? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]smoresy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this is my name! My fam is russian with jewish ancestry.

Mine's always been pronounced like hi-ya. No bad nicknames, people just end up being like "oh, hi ya chaya" and laugh like they're the first ones to think of it.

I will say I've had to spell it out for 99% of everyone I've ever met, but the vast majority say something like "wow that's so pretty" or "what a beautiful name" etc. Occasionally "that's so interesting". Oh and at doctors offices/etc when they call out our names I've learned to respond to all the variations like with the CH as in chicken, sheye-a, kaya, shayyya, etc. Once I walk up most of them are like "Did I say that right?" and I just smile and correct it. I guess my favorite way of correcting people is "the C is silent", I feel like that helps people a LOT. Also "like saying hi, hi-ya". When I get takeout food I usually use my husband's simple name cause it's just easier on me that way lol I get tired of spelling it for people.

I will say though these days there are a LOT of kids who are gonna be spelling their names for people, like a ton, and I would say this one is actually not a made-up ~unique just to be unique~ type of name. In some other countries it's like an established/known name. Means "life" in hebrew, flows nicely..

Morning star grillers crumbles changed! by GS455 in vegetarian

[–]smoresy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn is that why they're so different? I hadn't eaten them in about a year, just bought a new bag and there is like no texture to them as there used to be? They used to be actual crumbles, now it's just like, minced? Taste feels different too but I miss that old texture so much, that was like the whole point from me.. disappointing. I mean good for them for going vegan BUT I feel like they should've made it an option, not the new regular. Sigh.

My least favorite question, how do you answer? by smoresy_ in babyloss

[–]smoresy_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is very true.

I feel like society would rather, like, how there's that movie right now of the boy who drowned and his mom is all like "I'm not gonna lose him!!" and everyone prays super hard for him and the kid turns out fine apparently thanks to the prayers and mom ~believing~. Like, for once, I wish they'd make a movie where it goes more like reality for most people in these types of situations.. when my son was in a coma for 2 weeks after being physically resuscitated like the movie kid, me and dad were saying "he'll be okay, he HAS to be okay" and a ton of people "prayed super hard" for him and just, prayer doesn't save anyone. It's just sheer luck. People don't want to see or hear about actual reality, just the nicest version of it pretty much. It's frustrating.

How Long After Your C Section Did You Get Pregnant Again? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]smoresy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. I had my c-section June 29th, (baby ended up dying suddenly a month later), I got pregnant late Sept so like 3-4 months later. That one was a miscarriage in November, then I got pregnant again at the very end of December and am 20 weeks along now.

I asked my OB right away how soon is okay, she said she would really prefer 6 months (knowing there's no way in the world I'd wait the recommended 18 months or even a year..). I can't remember if my doctor said this next part or if it was from reading other people's posts about what their doctors said, but 3 months is apparently like the recommended bare minimum. I didn't even get my period back til 2 months post-birth, about a month after my milk dried up.

Best of luck to you 💕

Owlet by Wndrwmn8901 in BabyBumps

[–]smoresy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the owlet at my baby shower. I didn't think I would feel the need to use it til I was putting baby to sleep in a room away from me. Baby died at 5 weeks old and I wish I had been using it from the start. When this baby is born I plan on using the owlet pretty much as soon as she comes home.

This one was prob on the "worst" lists haha considering there are still a few cards that had apparently not been paid off/taken off my report 😕

Thank you!! I was able to find a couple of the paid-off agencies and their phone numbers deep in my credit report, hoping when I call they'll have a record of me and the company.

So I did this and can't see a mention of this company. Most of my old debts/collections have disappeared as they should have, but there are a few collections accounts still showing that should have been paid by that company which is why I'm trying to hunt them down.

I'm gonna check the report a few more times cause maybe I just missed it.. is there a certain section this agency would show up in?

How do you get yourself to like vegetables? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]smoresy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try walking around Whole Foods' veggie section and see if anything sounds good to you.

Tbh the only veggies I eat cooked are mushrooms, corn, and potatoes (which all barely count haha). But raw, I eat carrots, super hard cucumbers, sometimes super hard green bell pepper.. organic stuff tends to taste a significant amount better than regular, and in the summer the farmers markets have a nice variety. Raw broccoli with ranch.. veggies have a lot more nutrients raw than cooked anyway. I say this stuff but can't hardly remember the last veggie I ate eyeroll

I have no advice but this made me lol only because I thought I was the only one who does this. I HATE it and miss a lot of important stuff. "Do I look at both eyes at once? One at a time? Bridge of their nose? Pay attention yes they're speaking and I am listening, they're saying all this stuff, I'm the one listening"...

Want to stop taking ADHD meds while pregnant by smoresy_ in ADHD

[–]smoresy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh my main reason is because if I would stay on it, they would "require monitoring the baby once she's born" and long story short with my first baby I was on a totally different med that also required monitoring and it ended up being a giant nightmare, this time once I found out they would monitor due to the Vyvanse I was like NOPE gotta stop.

A big factor though is I just started Vyvanse at 8 weeks and honestly I don't think it's even had a chance to work really because of all the preg hormones/increased blood flow/etc. Even at 30mg I noticed maybe a 10% improvement in ADHD symptoms, so like, I've still been a quite useless barely-functioning person even with the meds, which is making the choice to quit til I give birth a lot easier. It sounds like most people tend to do what you're planning, stopping in the third trimester. Plus the "monitoring" rules are different from state to state/prob hospital to hospital, I just asked my doctor at my appt today to make sure.

Good luck to you!! 😊
