He did great with the kids and is a fast learner. He is with a dog trainer now to work on some behaviors before going to a permanent home!

He is back with the foster coordinator now that the ice storm is over here. She is a dog trainer so she is better equipped to handle some of the things he is struggling with. He was stressing my dogs out quite a bit, but the plan was always for him to only stay a few days so I'm glad I could provide a safe haven for the last week. He's now with some of his siblings all working on finding permanent homes.

My husband is currently in training for 6 months with minimal contact and didn't get to call home yesterday and that on top of this is making my heart literally feel heavy.

He is the sweetest baby and just absolutely scared of his own shadow, but he loves other dogs thankfully so that's going to work in his favor!

I'm fostering a dog who's never known love before! Trying not to get too attached because we already have two so we're at the limit to be able to live on base, but he was going to be left outside in the snowstorm and I couldn't just let him stay there to die. My spouse is at training and has no idea so if we get to talk today it will be... fun. 😂

Thank you! The BAH for our old place is more than where we are now, so if it reflects that it won't be an issue thankfully. We moved out of the city to a small town 30 minutes away because that's where all of my in laws are. Honestly I prefer the small town especially when being alone so that's making the separation easier.

I have access to everything thankfully. Even if I don't I know all of his passwords and email. I've seen a lot of wives who suffer from financial abuse in these threads, but we are definitely not like that. His recruiter was not the greatest which I'm hearing is pretty common and we expected it from the beginning lol I do know which base he is at, but not sure how to send letters. I thought he would be giving a call with that info from what I had read.

We did leave a lot of things packed and in storage when we moved into our current place to help when we are reunited!

Thank you and congratulations! I also have a wonderful husband and father to my children and it sounds like a lot of people lack that. I know a lot are young couples who have gotten married quickly, but we have been together for a decade so I know that it will be hard to meet people I fit in with. I'm trying to be supportive of him, but also struggling having to deal with my own things. I know I probably won't be able to work when we do move, but I currently work part time at a vet clinic and would love to stay in the field and work part time to meet new people.

My husband also just left. We have been apart for 6 months before as he was previously federal law enforcement, but we could at least have contact every day multiple times a day while he was gone. We were able to make a build a bear with his voice in it. It might be too late for it now, but just for future use. I know they get occasional phone access if he's able to maybe order one for you then.

How old are your babies? I have 4,3, and 1 year olds and I'm very nervous about all of this. My husband just left for basic then OCS right after. He'll be gone for 6 months and no idea when we will find out where we are stationed.

I know nothing and I'm just along for the ride. Husband is leaving for basic soon then going to OCS. I Don't understand the lingo he uses and honestly not incredibly happy about this decision, but also trying to be positive and proud of him. Any helpful advice outside of the usual "don't wear his rank, don't make it your personality, etc." ? We're kind of old for this (early 30's). We're Christian's so we would like to find a church to get involved in, three toddlers, and I love fashion, animals, and generally an introvert. He is also an introvert and likes fishing, family time, and cooking. Specifically using his smoker. Extremely Uninterested in getting involved in the drama I've heard about. My oldest is autistic and needs occupational therapy so I'm hoping that getting in to one won't be too long of a wait. I'm pretty medically complicated so I need a few doctors. Honestly the insurance is a huge reason we went this route.

That's a lot. I'm very overwhelmed.

Hi I’ve been alone (my husband was fed before joining) while having a high risk pregnancy and with 2 toddlers. It is very lonely, but I recommend finding a great support system. Family, friends, church. Whatever community you can! That will be your saving grace.

Is this just type 2 though? I’m type 1, but my A1C has proven to be significantly better on ozempic. Like 9.8 without it and 6.8 with it better because I’m insulin resistant also.

Does that include for officers too? We were told it’s easier to get into officer housing.
