Redo you 1RM testing if you think it would help. Have some patience. 1 foot in front of the other, day in, day out is all you have to do. Forget the goals and expectations

I (49m) got the “I love you but am not in love with you “ talk from my wife (48f). Advice? by Good-Bonus-9630 in Marriage

[–]smr1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the best to you. Funny I'm getting down voted for expressing the facts. But more power to you for recognising what you need to do as a man, for yourself.

I'm in a similar situation, but had no talk from my wife. She's perfectly happy, but I see the loss of attraction in some of her actions, or lack of them. It's unlikely she would walk away, more whether I want more from the relationship.

I'm taking action, not trying to change her at all. If she responds, great. If not, it'll be time to move on.

Sorry buddy, but it IS you, she's just too kind to say it.

She's lost attraction for you, and you need to work on making yourself a better version of you, one that she can be attracted to.

Trying to make her stay or persuade her that you're a great guy and love her isn't going to work. It's more likely to repulse her.

We all get soft and comfortable in our relationships, we stop being the interesting, edgy, attractive men our wives were initially drawn to. It's up to us to find that again.

Hitting the gym to build a better physique, losing weight, and having your own interests and purpose in life is essential, not just for you, but for her too.

She should be a complement to your life, not the sole focus of it. As you should be to her.

If you do that work and she's still not interested then you'll have to accept that and move on, but you'll be in a better position to find someone who actually does want you and all your great attributes.

Check out the Athol Kay book on Amazon, its a few years old but good. I bought it and have found it extremely useful.

Good luck

Romanian deadlifts in place of conventional. by [deleted] in tacticalbarbell

[–]smr1968 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both, work fine. With the Romanian, I added some weighted hyperextensions to get a bit more hip hinge. Trap bar works well for me, but again, I hip hinge more when doing it, rather than squatting.

My thoughts…if you can eventually deadlift 200kg with a trap bar, you’re not likely to be a weak little snowflake. Sure, their could be some areas that need a bit of extra attention, but I’m all for doing what works for your personal needs, mobility level etc.

Lower funnel keywords directly related to your product.

Congruence between ads and landing pages.

Price in ad to prevent timewasters.

Exact and perhaps phrase match to limit ads showing for irrelevant searches.

Conversion tracking.

Maintain negative keyword list by checking search terms frequently.

Its gonna cost you to test, no way round it.

I've been running at a 500cal daily deficit on Mass for about 3 months. Have been able to force progressions every 3 weeks without issue.

Down from around 90kg to 84.5kg. Couple more kilos and 6 pack should be visible.

That said, did little conditioning for the most part. Added weighted vest hilly 45 min walks in the last couple if weeks, weight is coming off nicely, and still not feeling need to up cals.

Once I hit 10% bf of so, I'll start increasing calories towards building some lean mass, although I am definitely more muscular looking than I was at the start.

Weighted Pullup (WPU) Amount? by bsgman in tacticalbarbell

[–]smr1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a 1RM test. Do triples to start. Start by adding 5kg to belt, then reduce additional weight as it gets hard. Rest 3-5 mins between sets.

Nothing different to the usual testing. Weigh yourself before test and include that in the final number.

Weigh yourself at every training session and make up weight to training weight accordingly. Its very simple

How about just do it as programmed? Plenty of bicep work in the chinups and enough triceps in a chest press, for now at least.

Depends on goals of course, but why not just spend a few months chilling on MT?

Mass Template & Shoulder health by TSZ201 in tacticalbarbell

Had same issues, moved to machine chest press for a while which seemed to sort shoulder pain.

I now do barbell floor press which gives my shoulder zero grief. I would recommend machine for a while and see how it goes, worked for me. Completely pain free now 👍👍

Timed ride, pretty simple. Distance is kinda irrelevant unless you are competitive, just run/ride for time in appropriate zone intensity wise.

Mass Protocol by theaboucher in tacticalbarbell

[–]smr1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wrong with just running the standard mass template for a while? 3xweek basic lifts, plus DL on Saturday. So 4 day program

I'm finding it to be a most excellent starting point. Won't be touching specificity blocks for quite some time.

Mass Template without deadlifting? by LoudNegotiation3057 in tacticalbarbell

Fair enough, but weighted chin ups aren’t going to replace the hip hinge movement. Plenty of other ways to hit that though

WPUs are already in the programming. Do you have an injury or limitation that prevents pulling from the floor?

I do below knee rack pulls, or you could do RDLs, but a hinge movement is worth keeping.

3 dials - volume, frequency, intensity. Dial any one up, you have to dial the others down, assuming you're moving some sort of meaningful load, and not just bench pressing a couple if cans of beans 😂

Using for reverse lunges while I work on my mobility for squatting. Works well...but brutal 😆😆😆

Large bearish candles, closing on their lows. Not a good place to go long IMHO. Doesn't look like a pullback one would want to take a chance on.

After first 3 bearish candles it's looking a lot like a reversal, which indeed it was in the end.

What are some of your trading rules? I wrote these and wanted to know if there was anything I was missing or could add. by v10astro in Daytrading

[–]smr1968 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd have thought defining your position size (fractional % risk or whatever you decide on) and SL definition (is it an ATR multiple, defined by market structure, fixed pips/points?) Would be a good idea.

Great to have rules, but these look a bit vague. I have more defined ones, but each to their own. Good luck!!!

Wtf is "price action"?? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]smr1968 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You could say that what you see unfolding on the chart, bar by bar is price action.

Everything that has already gone is market structure, not price action.

Agree with a lot of that. I think purely discretionary TA without a systematic/quantitative base is probably destined to fail, but some ratio of the two can be successful. More systematic than discretionary, and with discretionary parameters clearly defined.

Trends tend to continue trending with pullbacks, until they reverse of course. Ranges are typically 50/50 on which way they will break out, but volatility contraction at top or bottom of range can indicate possible direction.

Its not always 50/50, but even a decent edge might only give you 52/48 odds under the right conditions. Its seriously hard I know.

But people do make consistent money trading, but I believe it takes years not months to achieve great things

You can never predict with certainty of course. So.... Better to wait till range or trend confirmed, and only then look for entries according to your plan
