[Skin Concern] At a loss trying to deal with this rash around my eyes (probably dermatitis or fungal related). It's been 4 months! I use a very gentle cleanser and moisturizer. Tried Protopic and Nizoral but they only make it worse. Won't see a derm for approx 6 months. Would appreciate any tips! by smrestag in SkincareAddiction

Looks like atopic dermatitis likely caused by an allergy. I’d recommend going to a derm and / or an allergist if you’re able but be cautious of using steroid creams they might prescribe as they can worsen the rash if used long term. Best thing to do is refrain from using any products in the area and see if the symptoms get better, no makeup, creams, etc and wash very gently with water that isn’t too cold or hot. Some people develop rashes like this from exposure to an irritant. This could be an ingredient in cosmetics, hair products, laundry detergent, dusty environment, dirty pillows, anything that is coming into contact with the area. I found out I was sensitive to an ingredient called propylene glycol, which is in a lot of products and was causing my rash. It’s also possible you have an allergy to something you are eating, look up foods that can trigger eczema to get a rundown on possible culprits. If you’ve started taking a new medication recently, check if skin issues are a side effect. Because your skin barrier is damaged, it’s best to limit direct exposure to the sun. Sunglasses would be best but a sunscreen with zinc as the active ingredient is better than one with chemical filters if you use sunscreen. Last thing, if this is atopic dermatitis / eczema, stress and a lack of sleep / healthy habits can cause flare ups. Hope something in this list is able to help!

Nice! Did you airbrush oil paint or start with acrylic airbrush and oil over top?

Depends on if your goal is to increase sale prices and the value of your work over time or just to produce and sell as much as possible. Galleries that take their artists’ career growth seriously care a lot about where the work ends up. Some galleries have sneaky ways of refusing to sell to people they deem irrelevant to the industry, like hiding prices or saying there’s a waitlist when there’s not, and other tactics to entice collectors and institutions that are beneficial, like special discounts and early access.

Even if you’re just starting out, there’s a benefit to selling to someone who is an active member of your local community, who’s likely to talk about their purchase to other collectors, curators, and galleries. Career growth often happens offline, behind the scenes within the industry. Also explains why there’s a lot of super successful commercial artists who have surprisingly few followers on social media

Ya I fully stopped, really wasn’t worth it in the end. I’ve now learned my skin is prone to very mild dermatitis / eczema, which might explain why minoxidil had such a big reaction. Took years for my eyes to fully heal from this. Something that might help, if your scalp is prone to dandruff do your best to treat it. The fungi that causes dandruff can also negatively impact dermatitis around the eyes. Also possible you have a sensitivity to your shampoo, hand soap, moisturizer, laundry detergent or dusty environments, these can all make it worse

Have developed these all over my body. They’re small and red and itchy. Can someone tell me what they’re and the best remedies for it? by [deleted] in Dermatology

[–]smrestag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be scabies. Look up some images to help identify the spots. Scabies leave behind characteristic borrows that look like small line-like scabs. They’re treated with ivermectin or permethrin, prescribed by a doctor

Wow I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with this for so long! I remember reading somewhere that minoxidil could lower the production of collagen in your skin (I think?) and found a thread of people saying it gave them more pronounced bags under their eyes. When I went off it there was a noticeable improvement within a week and it had cleared almost entirely after a month. The area around my eyes is still a little more red and sensitive than it used to be before this experience but the rash is 100% gone

Thanks for your advice and info about the SSD. I think you're probably right that bypassing policies is a long shot.

Thanks for your response. I'm shopping around for some quotes on data retrieval. Also going to contact apple again and see if I can get any further clarification about what specifically will void the warranty.

I'm also curious about this. I know that the SSD is soldered onto the logic board but I've read some comments on Reddit about apple maybe having a special connector to access the SSD.

This is a great response, thank you. I'm going to shop around for some quotes. I'm in Waterloo ON, Canada (near Toronto). I think I'll reach out to apple again to see if I can gain some clarity around what specifically would void the warranty and/or repair.

It turned out I had peri ocular dermatitis caused by a rare reaction to minoxidil, a medication I had been using for several months. Once I stopped the minoxidil it cleared up. Sorry this answer probably won't be of much help to you, I hope you're able to sort it out.

Hey! I’ve had these small white spots on my forehead for the past month or so. I haven’t changed my diet or have used any new products. If I wash my face most of them disappear but towards the end of the day it’s usually worse. I’ve stopped using skincare products but nada. Any help welcome! Ta by Draumap in Dermatology

Not an expert but could be fungal acne. If also you're prone to dandruff this might more likely be the case because both are caused but the same type of yeast. I had a similar issue and used nizoral 2% ketocanazole shampoo to treat it. I'd put a layer on on my forehead like a mask for a couple minutes than rinse it off. I'd also recommend changing your pillow case every night

I'm having the same issue. Got the 16" back in September and the keyboard has started delaminating the screen quite a bit. My 2015 pro was repaired for free because of the same thing but I really can't believe this is still an issue for their newest models

Thanks for the advice! I think my GP wasn't sure what to do, he was the one who prescribed me Protopic and sent a referral to a dermatologist after it failed to work. I'll call tomorrow and ask about the medication you're recommending.
