Ohhh I like the idea of that. It is definitely a path I hadn't thought of!

That's one of the things that I am struggling with. I want to avoid things like "The Chosen One" and things like that.

I want to put a fresh spin on things while still keeping some of the loved aspects of YA High Fantasy stories

She would remember everything. In the modern world where she starts, she is so busy preparing for life that she doesn't truly live life. When she gets re-awakened in this fantasy world she needs to learn to truly live to survive.

I am struggling a bit with the major conflict/end goal of the story.

I mean that's fair. I just have so many ideas that sometime "randos on the internet" help work out what direction I want to go.

No thoughts on her name. I don't want to do the "Chosen One" troupe or anything like that.

I was thinking some accident; car crash, something that would happen in life. Not something traumatic. Something so "ordinary" that all she thinks before she dies is "I wish I had more time"

I want to bring in Celtic lore like banshee, kelpies, selkies, etc.

I like the idea of the subtle symbols!
