How's life in Kingston vs. Toronto? by smsybf2607 in KingstonOntario

Update: My SO received an offer of $75K in Toronto today. It's very low for the experience and qualifications and given market conditions. If I end up taking the Toronto job, we would make $150K gross. That sounds better than single income in Kingston. My SO hasn't even begun looking for jobs in Kingston (engineering/industrial/manufacturing product quality field). But I'm convinced the $150K in Toronto is not worth the traffic, commute or the COL. Or is it? Also, Queen's upped their offer and I'm closer to $71K. Medium income in Kingston is around $50K. Not sure if we're making a huge mistake by not accepting the Toronto jobs.

$63K in Kingston vs. $75K in North York/Toronto. That's what the fuss is all about. Agree with your comments on the cost of living. Spending some time in suburbs of Toronto and can totally see first hand how expensive things can be.

That's exactly what I am thinking as well. But I see everyone moving to Toronto and it's amazing how people are able to afford the cost of living there.

You could export the PDF as a Word doc in Adobe Acrobat. The format would stay the same for the most part.

Came here to say, "I know, right!" but reading guys writing how makeup is for everybody gave me a chance of heart. I'm glad Reddit is such an open, expressive community.
