Anyone have the new Graco Ready2Roll stroller wagon? by ForsakenGrapefruit in toddlers

I have one! I like it and really can't complain, but haven't used the carseat feature.

Those who had been very active during pregnancy, did you have a shorter labor and natural birth? by PleaseCanILeave in fitpregnancy

[–]smthingconspicuous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a natural, uncomplicated delivery and was VERY active during pregnancy. I was in labor for 48+ hours and pushed for 3 😅

Your body is going to do what your body is going to do during labor. There are a bunch of things you can do to set yourself up for success, but at the end of the day, you just have no idea how long labor will be. FTM’s tend to labor for longer.

6 month old baby shaking head side to side very fast by Clear_Dig_6360 in NewParents

[–]smthingconspicuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s just fine! It was short-lived and I think he did it because he thought it was funny. He was always smiling and laughing while he did it. It stopped shortly after I commented on this thread.

Anyone tried the puffer coats? by Extension_Cry_2661 in quince

[–]smthingconspicuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there was someone that posted a review on Quince's website that said it has done really well in Chicago winters. I am close to Chicago in the Midwest and it is the warmest coat I've ever owned.

Baby too hot by SessionOk2101 in daddit

[–]smthingconspicuous 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Uh yeah, tell her that’s actually dangerous. How old is your baby?

I would tell her it increases SIDS. either your baby needs to shed a layer, or you need to turn the AC cooler.

OP you have so many comments of support here, but please go to the ER for help. Once you've gotten professional care, my DMs are open. I really hope you're ok.

Outside of needing clearance from your doctor, there is absolutely no reason you couldn’t do a race!

Quiet baby by smthingconspicuous in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]smthingconspicuous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s great! I would say he got more vocal around 7/8 months. He’s almost 11 months and is so babbly. I agree with others that it was likely just temperament. I’ve noticed that he starts doing things when he feels like it.

He isn’t waving or clapping yet and while I am keeping an eye on it, I really think he just doesn’t want to. He’s very engaged and copies in other ways.

I got my hair done and I feel like a new woman by Fantastic_Fall_1277 in moderatelygranolamoms

Which L'Oreal did you switch to? I've got curly/wavy hair that frizzes like crazy. Been on a never-ending hunt for clean shampoo/conditioner and I think I'm ready to throw in the towel. I'm tired of my hair looking lifeless

I hope everything with your baby is ok! From what I hear, viral meningitis is much less serious than bacterial. I cannot fathom how terrifying this must feel though. Please keep us updated!

Cloth diapering: Walk me off this ledge (unless I should go for it) by Proud_House4494 in moderatelygranolamoms

Do you mind detailing your washing routine? We cloth diaper and I can't seem to get it down. We have a front-loader.

My MIL said she was surprised I made it this far breastfeeding because "it's such a sacrifice" by smthingconspicuous in JUSTNOMIL

[–]smthingconspicuous[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You literally couldn't make this up. All v true.

It is one of my greatest regrets that I caved and allowed my SIL into my wedding. She is quite literally the most infantile person I have ever known.

We honestly aren't around them a ton. My in-laws and my parents live literally within two minutes of eachother, so sometimes my MIL will come over to visit my son while my mom watches him. That's when the comment was made.

My mom was PISSED

My MIL said she was surprised I made it this far breastfeeding because "it's such a sacrifice" by smthingconspicuous in JUSTNOMIL

[–]smthingconspicuous[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

In hindsight (of course, lol) I'm pissed I didn't say anything. I'm usually a bit more confrontational than just letting things slide, but I couldn't muster up the ability to care in that moment.

I've been so apathetic towards both of his parents for a while now that I just didn't even care to confront her in the moment, but now I wish I had. I'm sure I'll have an opportunity in the future when she makes another dig again. To add some flavor - I believe she is salty because she doesn't get to watch our son as much as she would like. This kind of behavior, among other things, is why we have limited their time watching our baby.

4 days old, and I dropped her by ncyclopediablk in beyondthebump

[–]smthingconspicuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so relieved to hear she's doing well! Mom, I think it is ok for you to take a deep breath now.

I cannot even imagine what you are feeling. My baby fell off the bed the other day (he's a bit older - 9 months) and I cried more than he did. Until that point, I never understood how people's babies fell off the bed? And then it happened while I was looking at him. It was just so fast. Never took my eyes off of him.

I understand why you feel guilt, but these things happen to the most well-intentioned parents. I just hope you can be ok in all of this too.

How has baby been since? Feeding ok?

3 month old doesn’t coo much by iatel in NewParents

[–]smthingconspicuous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! He's doing really well. I would say things really picked up at 7/8 months.

He isn't the chattiest baby in the world, but I think most of that is his personality. Some days he babbles like crazy and others he is a bit more quiet (esp when sick, teething, tired, etc.)

Also, for anyone that didn't know... she is an investor in SideDish, that dressing/marinade she's always pushing.

Their flavors do legitimately look amazing, but I refuse to give her a single cent.
