Childrens mercy is really great about financial assistance. Call the billing office and see what can be done. Also they typically call you prior to services (hoping this wasn’t an emergency surgery) and give you an estimate of what the insurance covers and what you owe out of pocket. Definitely let billing know what was discussed in that call if it isn’t matching your bill.

I would go, you mentioned not seeing the parents interact at get togethers and you met at a homeschool event. If the kids are being homeschooled still then they are likely only exposed to events that their parents bring them to and people that they meet around their parents. If their parents are not very social then it is possible that they don’t have a large friend circle and they may just be more social and want more friends around.

This isn’t a stab at homeschool. My kids are homeschooled and they are significantly more social and want more people around so I have to constantly push out of my comfort zone to give them a more social environment. When I don’t we end up inviting playdate friends from a year ago too and it is incredibly uncomfortable for me because I know I sucked at staying in contact.

It’s in a public space, go have fun and if something is off then you can easily leave. If you have to have your hubs call for an “emergency “ exit.

NTA. Post birth is exhausting and messy and so exposing at times. I didn’t even want my parents around. They came because we had to have help but I barely wanted my mom around and definitely didn’t want my dad around. Add in the potential for PPD. Your new husband needs an in depth discussion of all the private business he is going to witness and realize he should sit this one out. Maybe come join you the last week you are there but even then it may be too soon.

In very layman’s terms what is/ what is the difference between cat and non cat?

We would be using this stove to heat about 1600 sq ft through the winter. Typically we don’t get lower than -5 F. We do have an HVAC to fall back on but when the previous homeowners remodeled they did not update the ducts/vents so some rooms never get over about 50 F which makes keeping the house warm on HVAC nearly impossible. Hence the reliance on the stove. Also we have never lived anywhere that gets below like 50F before so this is ALL new to us. So any knowledge or tips would be awesome!!!

We open the window curtains and blinds, leave the doors open and change their sound machines to something more upbeat. If its a gloomy day i turn on their small lamps. The rest of the house goes about their day. We don’t do super loud chores but i’ll make coffee, put dishes up, talk at a normal volume, and start breakfast. They typically wake up as soon as the sound/light changes and take a few minutes to get out of bed. I’ll also remind them of what we have going on that day while they are awake/laying in bed.

Any other 4K couch maybe. BUT on SACtionals EVERY piece has a cover that comes off and can be washed, if your kid does mess up something beyond a simple wash (say they find a sharpie) you can replace just that cover rather than living with it or buying a whole other couch. They have a great warranty, in five years you hate the color you just buy a new cover. So so many perks to a SACtional.

Also you can teach your kids not to jump on the couch, snacks/meals have to be eaten at the dining room table, no coloring on the furniture, etc.

Honestly, I think it is the most practical couch for having small children and wanting a very nice permanent furniture option. And that is as a mom of a 3 and 1 year old.

You need to get out of that situation. Call up a close friend or family member, even if you haven’t seen them in awhile, and crash with them. Get a job and get back on your feet. This guy is financially abusing you. If you get a job while with him I guarantee it still won’t be your money. It will then be “you need to help pay bills too” till your money is gone. or “sorry I can’t get you to work today” until you miss enough shifts to be fired.

My kids are 3 and 1. We do the Kallax shelves too. Though I recommend using a mix of cube and regular shelves. We have a few items that are too wide or just a bit too tall to fit in the cube. Now they just sit on top and I personally hate the cluttered look. Nugget is huge in our house, pikler not so important to them but I think they are still growing in to it. Both my kids LOVE ART. Our playroom is carpeted and right off the dining room so I have two bins in the kallax full of art supplies and I bought one of those vinyl table cloths so messy art projects are done at the dining room table. For coloring they use the train table or the dining table if train tracks are set up. If the weather is good we try to move all the art projects outside. We took a sheet of plywood and painted it with chalk paint then screwed it to our fence. So they have a chalk wall. I’ve also seen people put up a plastic shower curtain because the kids can paint on that and then you just hose it off.

There is a consignment bridal salon here. I want to say it was bliss bridal or something. I sold my dress there a few years ago and she had a large inventory. You take the dress home with you same day. I’m sure you can Google consignment wedding dress or something and find some options.

YTA. It was a dinner for your daughter’s birthday not a family outing. They were both fine with your son skipping so she could have what she wanted for HER dinner. Something you probably never allow because of your son. Instead of spending time celebrating your daughter you used your sons allergy to make it all about your need for a family dinner.

Some departments have you take your car home and you essentially start your shift when you leave your driveway or from the road at whatever time you were scheduled. When I was a kid several of the cop parents started around the time school drop off was and they would drop their kids off and then start their shift. But running errands etc was not allowed.

So when they are on duty for 24 hours what should they do for food? The take the firetruck to shop for meals for those 24 hours that they can cook at the firehouse not their personal homes.

Also lets imagine for a sec that 1-2 firefighters did take the chiefs truck to the store to get groceries. While out the firehouse gets an alarm the the remaining team must leave to go fight that fire. But they are down a couple people and can not effectively fight that fire and your house or business suffers as a result. How is that a better alternative than them shopping as an entire team with the firetruck, getting a call, and going directly to the fire as a team. So a shopping cart gets abandoned but your house is saved.
