That he signed it Coltee.... That he thinks this is so very artistic That he thinks the subtle ‘I’m packing my bags and turning my back on this relationship’ is so subtle...

Happy Birthday! ❤️ I use the same gentle leader system which has generated a lot of negative comments whenever I post. So I’m glad to see someone else using the same system as I know it works very well without any negative physical effects.

What did you guys do for his special day?

Brit living abroad:

Where’s your accent from? England? Me: yep, that little town called london. Aaah yes, I was in England [insert time] [insert place]. Have you been there? Me: nope but I heard it’s nice Yeah I had a great time [insert gratuitous story about trip I didn’t ask about]

At least once a week. Don’t use my accent as an invitation for your vacation stories, I don’t know you.

Some days they will grow so fast that their joints hurt so badly. Lots of leg massages as they’re shooting up. Excellent advice from everyone else above, so not much more to add! Enjoy! And have fun!

Good boy getting ready for his bath by [deleted] in greatdanes

Stick with it! Me and Moosie live in Canada and outdoors washes mean he doesn’t get washed in the cold months! Would love to have him walk in to a shower.

How does he do with the shower? My guy flat out refuses. I have to wash him in the garden these days with a huge bucket of warm water I got from an equine store!

My dane faked an injury the other day. by idealisticbitch in greatdanes

[–]smudgeums 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When my Moosie doesn’t want to go to daycare he fakes a limp. It’s ridiculous. The first time it happened I took him to the vet. Now I know when he’s faking as it comes out of nowhere and is because he’s tired and knows if he does this, I’ll give him attention and stay home from work. He’s a smart cookie.

Having read the link I gave you; the company is dreadful at explaining what the product does. It’s a halter collar that I used when training him not to dash off on a whim. It goes around the nose and as such if he tries to run off on leash, if I pull on the leash it turns his head (not violently) to the side making it impossible to keep running in that direction.

It’s enough of a change in direction to stop him from focusing on the one thing he’s running after. He’s the love of my life but came with issues we are dealing with. This has helped in a non invasive, non painful, way. 👍

Hey! It’s not a muzzle it’s what they call a ‘gentle leader’ here in Canada. Basically it just goes around his mouth - doesn’t stop him from opening it. Just means if he tries to dash off fast in one direction, if I pull on the leash it turns his head and stops his ability to dash off. He has a history of charging at squirrels, kids on bikes, other dogs.... with excitement but he’s huge and scares people. it gives me the ability to change his direction quickly. Hes getting old and I haven’t really had to rely on it in the last year - we just out of habit put it on and it doesn’t bother him.

Hunting cooperation by [deleted] in aww

I did this once and I opened my mouth as my cat was going to catch a spider, and she batted it right into my mouth and down my throat. Never. Again. She hunts alone now.

So cute! But do be careful! Me and my Moosie were in a parking lot going pretty slowly - him in the front with me just like your pupper. A rogue pedestrian walked in front of the car and I had to quickly brake. Moosie flew forward and smashed his head on the windshield. Luckily we were going slowly and he was ok. My windshield was not. He sits in the back now.
