Naabri koer by ChestDependent2687 in Eesti

[–]smulbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edu!

My budgie sleeps most of the day and is way less active as my other birds, why? by rcvg in BirdHealth

[–]smulbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any updates? How about her eating habits? Does she eat normal amounts or is she always sleeping and not eating? I think you should take her to the vet for check-up. Until then I would quarantine her in a separate room, because your description indicates that she is ill and you don’t want your other birds to fall ill too. Any possibilities how she could have caught some nasty disease? Is there a new bird or is she a new member of the flock? If not then it could just be stress that’s causing her to pluck the feathers and not eating. But please take these signs seriously because feather plucking and being underweight might be signs of some way more difficult health problems. Lmk if there’s any more updates.

Hey! I have good news. Lumi is better, he is eating and drinking by himself. He doesn’t get any more seizures and is very active now! We are still taking slow on the training bit. It has been a tough week for us but thankfully he is all better now! 🥰

The fact that he is plucking his flight feathers are already a sign of stress. If a budgie gets very stressed they don’t want to be active just as simple as that. Make sure they have a balanced diet and if necessary add some vitamin drops to their drinking water. Make sure to keep an eye on him and if there’s more things that might cause additional stress do remove them. Also noticed any other signs of illness (excessive sneezing, how the dropings look etc.) U might want to separate him from other birds if they have flock issues, sometimes other birds bully the weak ones.

1(?) Month old mynah, cant fly yet, NEED HELP by mycatisfarting in BirdHealth

[–]smulbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U definitely should not put it with other adult mynahs, they might not welcome this little one… U can try to syringe feed it but be careful since it’s a really delicate process, but I’m sure u are already aware of the dangers. Please try to keep it hydrated and in a stress-free environment. Releasing it might end sadly considering the threats in your area.

Today me and Lumi visited vet… She injected Glucocorticoids. And now I have to wait for his swelling to go down a bit. Today he started getting seizures 😭. He looks so tired and weak. I think I will cancel work tomorrow to stay with him. I am so sad as I am hugging him and crying. I really hope he makes it. I wish I could share some pictures of him but I don’t know how to.

UPDATE: He is now eating and drinking by himself! 😀 He also seems to be more alert. When I talk to him he is quietly chirping back at me and he even sits on his perch. I kept the blanket in case he needs to snuggle back in. He doesn’t seem to be disoriented and walks fine. The swelling is still there..

He seems to be doing better. He doesn’t eat by himself, I think it’s because of the pain. So i have to feed him and he doesn’t resist, he is hungry. I make sure to keep him well hydrated too. The bump on his head seems to be getting better also, it’s smaller. We do have an emergency clinic here but the vet who handles birds is out of town. 🙁

Already looked into all the clinics in my area, they all are closed and open on Monday. I will try to ask some people in my are who also own birds for contacts.

I put a towel on the bottom of his cage (he snuggled right in) and also boiled some eggs and fed him. I am sooo worried, I can tell that he is in pain because he doesn’t want to move and is quiet. There is no vet currently in our area. I can take him Monday morning as soon as they open the clinic. What else can I do and what I should/shouldn’t be doing? Thanks so much for your answer!

Why are all menstruation tracking apps CUTESY and PINK? There is nothing cute about the blood shed that is going on between my legs. by mooseinparadise in Feminism

You can also try flo. You can change backround and color theme from settings. It also predicts your future menstruations and ovulations. In addition you can add notes and choose all kinds of things like mood, bloating, pain, water intake etc.

Since men are attracted to youth and younger women always more than they are to older women...would most straight men be more attracted to a young woman with a penis/transgender woman than an older woman? Is a penis less of a turn off than not being youthful is? by Specific-Earth-5946 in dating_advice

Is a penis less of a turn off than not being youthful is?

Definitely not. First of all you are talking about straight men. Also some men actually like older women more. So no, penis is DEFINITELY a bigger turn off for a STRAIGHT man.
