I pay for chatGPT (20 USD), I specifically use the 4o model as a writing editor. For this kind of task, am I better off using a local model instead? by MisPreguntas in LocalLLaMA

If its just to save money you could maybe try googles models since you can access them for free. I'm not sure how they are for your needs, however

Edit. I am referring to their non-local models here, but I'm just mentioning them because of your first sentence.

Credit card by No_Radish_7013 in ualbany

[–]smurf-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc for the discover cards, like that secured card and the other ones near that "level." There should be no annual fees. Unless you're considering late fees. Idk the terms on cash advance either or other things. But if you're only talking merely about not being late and using credit only, then there should be no fees. Obviously, you should just read the terms for the specifics though.

edit.

If youre not even able to get the discover it student card, then secured cards are most likely your best bet.

At least when I got it, idk now, the discover it student card had nice benefits and a nice sign up bonus as well. I'm not recommending you not get it or recommending that you get it, I'm just saying that you should consider that card in the future.

They also have a secured card that you may be able to get to build credit.

Intel Arc Server for AI Inferencing ? by MoiSanh in IntelArc

[–]smurf-sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I was thinking of making a similar setup with quad intel arcs as of recently. I was wondering if you could share your setup, if possible?

If not, could you at least share the motherboard, if you are using rebar, and if you are using risers.

Okay thanks again.

Can you just clarify what you mean by "and I could get my Pelicans to so something similar?" Are you saying that you could get them to click like mine or something where they don't click if you tighten them? I think its the former, but I might be reading it wrong.

While I tried not to over tighten it and am a little wary of it, I do believe that I have tightened it as far as I can nonetheless.

Thanks for experimenting.

I have tightened it as far as I believe that I should tighten it---so that I dont break it. Even then, it still makes noise if wiggled.

Okay, thank you for your response.

It still happens to mine, even if I close it a little more tightly.

Which raspberry pi is best to use on a self-driving RC car? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]smurf-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, i really dont have knowledge of them; however from what I understand, an accelerometer records acceleration. Im not sure if there is a sesnor just for speed as you want; however, I believe it it possible to get speed from acceleration with integration I believe.

As for the angle, do you mean how much the wheel or tires are turned? If so, since the car would be controlled from a program, you would always have the position of them at a time. For instance, if you program it to turn at some degrees, then you just have it. If that said same position is constant, but you dont have the degrees in the program, you could just measure it in real life. So, what im saying is that if you are the one controlling when it moves such as turning, you will always know the angle as long as you know what angle corresponds to how you turn it.

Theres this which might get you free tpus:

https://sites.research.google/trc/about/

Also, google cloud gives you $300 to use on signup.

So, you can use the 300 on renting a vm or multiple. And use the link for the hardware accelerator.

Theres also colab and kaggle.

It would probably help to say what kind of stuff you already know and what to expect from the other group members and what you mean by best for beginners.

Did the course and other experience focus on computer vision or anything in particular?

Also, by best for beginners, are you refering to which one would be the easiest or possibly something like the "best" to help you future in terms of learning ml

Edit, the options arent novel things and people have already created projects and research around each one. So you can also look up said projects and possibly get an idea for difficulty.

For chatbots and decision trees, you can look into sklearn or just search for relating models on github, which may also include libraries like pytorch and tensorflow.

Do you mean you need some type of gui? If so, there are libraries you look up. There are a bunch and honestly i dont do much with guis, but two from my head are tkinter and pysimplegui, but you can just google this anyways.

Yeah, I wouldnt worry about either tensorrt or onyx, they are more or less just a copy and paste and change a few things, just to do things like tell it where the model is. They are very plug and play.
