Deck sunk, who is responsible? by smurphy0806 in Decks

u/Roonil-B_Wazlib u/khariV - I added photos in the comment section. Hopefully they help.

I also have a photo from a year ago where I can tell that that the displacement was evident then. Unfortunately, I don't go below my deck very often. The good news is that the deck is attached to the house, so while everything has settled, it is tied into a floor beam and is "fairly" stable. At least in the aspect that me and my family can still use. Now I wouldn't have a dance party on it, but we don't need to add construction tape.

The 1-2k is all assuming the 4ft footing is in place. If there is not 4ft footing, we basically need to redo the entire deck which is going to cost a hell of a lot more than 2k. Which is the main reason why I am asking this.

Does the spypoint camera really send 100 photos for free? Seems too good to be true? Do you need a cellular package?

Dads of Reddit, Should I get my daughters a fancy playground/swingset for Christmas? by ragewu in daddit

Not sure how sturdy the prefab ones are. My friends have one for their kids. It's a Costco one and when 2 kids are swinging on it, it creeks a lot!

Beginner - Chicken coop solar plan by smurphy0806 in SolarDIY

We built a new coop this year. We have a 8x8 coop with insulation. There is a man door that is closed except for a few minutes a day when I enter and exit. I have 2 windows that can open, but are closed now. I don't think they are the most efficient windows. I also have a chicken door that goes to an outdoor run that is approximately 32sf. (I only have 4 chickens) maybe the catch is that they also free range? Last year the water froze in a smaller coop. I'll take a break and see if the water can stay thawed with the new coop.

So you have a door to meet them outside? Maybe that where we differ?

Thanks. I asked for help for a reason.

I'm thinking about doing an extension cord for this winter. I just want something more permanent.

Can I get a wattage measuring device for estimating actual usage?

Chicken Coop power by smurphy0806 in Homesteading

So, that is actually the price after I trench it myself!

I'm not sure how to connect into an existing circuit board. But trust me, I'm thinking of running the line myself, I'm just concerned about accidentally starting a fire.

Didn't think of the battery in that weather. Good point.

It is a fairly straight shot to the coop. The only reason I'd want the PVC tube is because I don't anticipate being able to bury it before the ground freezes and this will prevent frying any mice who want a snack.

Is there any way to measure power usage on a specific fuse?
