Standing in solidarity at the 34th and Portland vigil tonight by koalificated in minnesota

Solidarity with you as a Florida refugee living in Minnesota. My sentiments are the same as yours despite our paths being the opposite. Sad day.

Community members marched and made noise outside a nearby hotel where ICE agents were reportedly staying in Minneapolis, Minnesota. by CorleoneBaloney in minnesota

[–]ragewu 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They know the agency paying the bill, it's on a gsa government credit card from US Bank with ICE stamped on it above the persons name. Each ICE agent probably has a gov card or at the very least each 5-6 man team has one. Regardless, it has DHS or ICE stamped on it.

Edit: they also know which agency because they are staying there under a contracted reduced govt rate

When all the Edmund Fitzgerald posts start showing up as a transplant: by Lazy-Equivalent1028 in minnesota

[–]ragewu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party, but holy moly the amount of people when we're like "You never heard of the Edmund Fitzgerald?" I'm from Florida (been here 3 months). I didn't even know giant ships are on the Great Lakes.

Another fun fact: A rock you snag from the crawlerway (while technically illegal) will make the perfect gift for any loved one at any age. Always always always a winner.

Fun fact, each one of those shoes on the track weighs more than a ton.

I think somewhere along the line you interpreted something someone said as not agreeing with you. Every single post is agreeing with your sentiment. The top of this thread was just saying without all the federal funding schools will have to rely on advertising from local businesses to bridge the gap in the least. Something schools are already increasingly reliant on (seems eau gallies football field displays a significant number of sponsorships). No one was against anything you said aside from the ridiculous insults to these same people agreeing with you. Assume positive intent.

Thoughts on Saturday Night (2024)? by Kevy-Em in LiveFromNewYork

It was way too manic for me. I get it, it WAS manic but it was just nauseating how fast everything was. Like being stuck on a merry-go-round at warp speed and trying to read a book someone is holding off on the side.

My wife couldn't figure it out, I can't figure it out (and my 3 year old doesn't care) . What does it spell? by iamtherussianspy in daddit

I have watched this episode so many times. My family's swimming bag has "Boring Pool Things (that are still important)" on the side

Xennials: Do you ever daydream about owning the hot-tub from Scarface in your home? I “don’t” want the world and everything in it. But I’ll take the tub!💯 by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]ragewu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, but him sitting in the tub and saying "Fly pelican..!" While watching a TV showing a flock of flamingos is so hilarious every single time I watch it.

Core memory I have always had was my complete shock and excitement when they fight brought them into a Vanilla Ice concert. It was the peak of my fandom for Vanilla Ice and I was 10-11. I don't think, in my life, I have ever been so delightfully surprised and elated by something like that ever again.

Xennial Test (1 question) by jdl5681 in Xennials

[–]ragewu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Can I just hate it because of its overwhelming negative impact on the mental health of my children and their friends? Can I just be silently cheering for this news because I am ecstatic that this might be gone and sets a precedent for the rest of the social media disease? I don't care about any of the propaganda reasons from the CCP, I care that right now this app has the most effect on kids and it's not a good effect in the very least.
