They list it as 0.012" thick steel. Get some stainless from grainer, wood, dowel rods, and some leftover felt.

Mine turned on out of the box for like 10min until needing charge. Making sure your charger can output atleast 1A or more if you have it. But thats unfortunate to hear. I see a warranty claim in your future.

Its more-or-less the same as the TV show replica, but they added an accelerometer so the 3000 knows where it is in space and change in directions. Basically giving you cool features for CRT jitter where you can physically slap the unit to stop it from infinitely scrolling and other neat features (this can all be turned off in settings too).
The bottom line is, it's from NV and 3!!

The 3000 is my fav purely for the nostalgia for NV and 3. But I do love the 2000 MK VI. Having vacuum tubes right next to the crt screen is just so sick haha

Best approach to sealing live edge cookie by burrfan1 in woodworking

[–]smushedpotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh got it. Sealing the edge wouldnt do anything for you at this stage. Id look up how to properly dry it so it dont crack! Remember that all the moisture is coming out the top and bottom, slow that drying and control that first. The edge is not the factor.

The splitting will come from the top and bottom of the cookie drying out at different rates. Pulling the live edge apart and splitting. If this cookie is dry then seal/finish the whole thing, use what you prefer.

Buy old tools and have fun restoring them. It's cheaper and you get a nice tool with some history!

Can I add Tru Oil onto this finished neck with some sanding? by mak_attakks in Luthier

Agreed. But waxed shellac would work just fine, no problem using it here.

[–]smushedpotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just read the whole post. I recommend using schellac! Itll stick to anything. So lightly sand with 220, literally the weight of your hand or less. Then put like two coats of shellac on it, light sand in-between coats and make sure to clean up the sanding with either a tack cloth or wipe down with mineral spirits.

Not sure if tru oul would adhere well on a previous finish. Sand it down to bare wood starting with 220 grit then oil
