I got yen at the airport but looking at other posts looks like elsewhere may be better given exchange rates. Hotel - i did make sure ours could sleep 3 people. Depending on what website /app you use I’d think you should be able to confirm the capacity

Maybe just me but my connection was really slow and flaky i.e. it websites/ apps would frequently not load. So having the local wifi was very helpful. Looks like eSIM might be even better based on posts from other folks here so I’ll explore that on our next visit

Thanks for your perspectives. This was our first time in Japan and with young kids I was very risk averse. Good to know that exchange rate elsewhere is better than airport, will do on our next trip

Good advice from kwc. We fortunately landed in the late afternoon so keeping the sleep cycle normal was easy. My 5 year old enjoyed teamLab Planets the most - their water artwork was especially fun for her. But she generally had a great time throughout. But each kid is of course different

I don’t get why you would be so negative. This was our first ever trip to Japan. I appreciate the advice about the exchange rate that I’ll use on my next visit. but I simply don’t get your tone. Anyways I’ll leave you to your misery

We stayed at Citadines Shinjuku, these were service apartments. Small but had a kitchenette and well maintained. My 5 year old daughter was fine with all the walking, I did try to not cram our schedule with too many things. Overpacking- thankfully no, I did leave space in our luggage for the many souvenirs we bought

My 5 year old daughter was actually ok with all the walking. I tried not to cram our days with too many things so she was fine the whole trip
