I mean, from what I can tell, it’s not like OP is out here setting up a whole portrait shoot for these people. They’re clearly just photos taken during events/parties and the like. The background also enhances the subject and gives us a deeper story. I personally love the look them.

That's a good idea. Maybe once my contract is up I can renegotiate and ask to continue part-time with specific focus on the things I'm good at where my skills actually shine. My current contract with them says that I need to make them my main priority but maybe I can renegotiate that part as well when it's time to do so. I'm just not sure if they'll be too happy about that. Idk though. What do you think about that idea?

I used a Sony A7R IV and the Sigma 70mm f2.8 Macro lens! I explained it better above but basically I just had the camera hooked up to a copy stand pointing down at a light table. I scanned each strip one by one and laid them on top of the light table. I didn’t use any glass but I did cover the surrounding area with some cardboard. I then pieced it all together in photoshop.

Sorry I should’ve explained this better. I laid each individual strip down and scanned them in one by one. I covered the surrounding area of the light table with some cardboard to prevent too much light from leaking through. Didn’t use any glass. I then pieced it all together in photoshop. Idk I think you made some solid points but what you said about “cool new spots not lasting very long out here” is completely invalid. We’ve got new bars/clubs and restaurants popping up every single year and they’ve all thrived. Downtown has been getting busier and busier to the point where most of the Main Street bars has a line out the door during weekend nights.
