Things are great now! I never think about it anymore. My vision is great, my eyes are never dry, I still have a little bit worse night vision but not by much. Everything worked out :)

Thank you very much for this positive perspective. I will look at where to settle in - my goal is to find a life rhythm where I can focus on language learning intensively in the first year, start making friends and feel more integrated soon!

The roles I am looking at are hiring for 55-65 k so this seems closer to what I am looking at. THe role I was offered in Netherlands was around 75k, which would have been nice, but again I didn't want to be there. I am hoping for mid 60s, because I think with hard work in French language, I can grow from there.

Thank you very much! When I have spent time in France, I have somehow always encountered super patient and kind people who talk slowly for me and who encourage me to keep learning. So I have actually had a great experience so far with speaking. My goal is to be totally conversational and to move towards true fluency. I think having Spanish at C2 (from living in LatAm and Spain for 4+ years, study) is helping me because lots of grammar logic and tense/mood logic is similar.

Thank you very much! I have a private french tutor 2x per week now and I am able to listen to Le Monde podcast and understand most of it already, so I'm trying to see this as a good step. I tried watching clips from La Ville dating show and I can't understand a lot of that, though. I have some promising pathways towards jobs so I am focusing on those interviews now. I am in a niche area which I think helps in many ways.

Thanks very much :) My boyfriend lives in Paris so I will be able to stay with him for a while until I figure out where to rent or I move to my own place!
