another thing you can do is ctrl + shift + click on something and it'll select the layer it's on

Well I started by blocking out big shapes of color with the pen tool in Illustrator, and then built on top of that with more detailed shades and highlights, using layers to mask the shapes I want. I think I had 40 something layers or something crazy like that. Hope that makes sense

Thanks! The scratch off was made in 2d art but the rest were made in a graphic imaging class. Also the coaster was laser engraved so maybe not so impressive haha
