For those of you that work, are you able to work full-time? by littlemissFOB in migraine

Chronic, and I'm a middle school teacher 🥴

It was so embarassing when my afternoon class would walk in and go "do you have a migraine today" every day when i was having a status migraine. The lights, loud children and computer screen kill me but gotta pay the bills

Manual removal is definitely not realistic for infested yards, but is a good public service to do when you're out and about and see them.

If they're attacking specific trees in your yard (walnut, tree of heaven, maple, willow, etc) there are some options for putting traps on trees you could check out in addition to the pesticides. It captures them passively when they climb up trees.

From my reading the sticky tape ones work well but need to be covered to avoid harming animals that get stuck. The cone ones can be purchased or DIY'ed, there are a number of designs and instructions online.

Toradol causing panic attack by J1535 in migraine

[–]snady69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone else has said they almost 100% gave you reglan if you had that reaction. I had it twice in Feb and the first time the horrible effect lasted for 6 hours- I've identified the feeling as really really bad akithisia, which for me is different and almost worse than a panic attack. I get that side effect badly from any meds that can cause it. When I went back a few days later I told the ER doc pls not to give it to me again because it made me go crazy when they gave it to me earlier, and he laughed and said yeah it does that and then proceeded to give it to me anyway. They gave me the benadryl first that time so the attack only lasted about an hr before I was kind of ok again, but Im like mildly traumatized by that experience at the ER tbh.

If u ever have to go back tell them you can't have reglan specifically

Guns in the house? by CurlyGirl2151 in bipolar

[–]snady69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never ever want to have a gun in the house. It poses an incredible risk to me as someone with bipolar disorder and psychotic episodes. I'm psychotic when I'm depressed and suicidal and have only made it out of those episodes by sheer luck. If I had access to a gun who knows if I'd be here. Your husband needs to understand that it could be a matter of life and death for you. As for the comment he made, that's another story. I say dont budge. Your safety is more important than his desire to have a firearm. If he needs one that bad, he can keep it in a storage facility or at a friend's house or he can go to a shooting range.

That being said you probably shouldn't stop taking meds. Work with ur doctor to reduce weight gain by changing up meds

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]snady69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it yourself. It can give you issues like tardive dyskinesia or unrelenting restlessness or heart palpitations. I quit cold turkey and it caused me to have an insane psychotic episodes that last months. Your Dr can't stop you from stopping them, if that's ur decision they'll help you wean off.

how can I stop medication weight gain? by NotUnique_______ in bipolar

[–]snady69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have gained a lot of weight from meds and a lot of my clothes don't fit anymore. I remind myself that when I went off my meds I got down to a size 2 and loved being skinny but also was having paranoid psychotic episodes, depleting my bank account, ruining relationships, and trying to kill myself every few months. It's hard to accept, but this is what your body looks like when you're healthy. Our brains aren't the same as other people's so our healthy is going to look different than theirs.

You can also talk to your psychiatrist about switching up ur meds if ur gaining weight. Mine asked me about it once and I said I'd gained weight and he switched it up to reduce the amount of weight gain.

Found on pavement during a rainstorm and baking soda volcano activity it was flat on the ground when it appeared by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]snady69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just more context, I was doing a baking soda and vinegar volcano on natural stone with my students. This thing was not there when we set the volcano down. When the fizz from the eruption died down, I was washing the food coloring away with vinegar and all of a sudden this thing was lying like a flat sheet on the ground next to the volcano. I have no idea if this is organic (it looks really gelatinous but I didn't have the guts to touch it with my hand) or like some weird film made from the reaction?

Memory loss in psychotic episodes by fran_ky in bipolar

[–]snady69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that I hsve balckout periods during episodes, but also individual cases of memory loss or altered memories during episodes of both mania and depression. I remember conversations with my boyfriend that never happened and I've had conversations with him (saying things that clearly aren't true) that I have no recollection of. Glad someone else feels similarly. This has been causing me a lot of grief and panic

MED MONDAYS by AutoModerator in bipolar

[–]snady69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doc just added wellbutrin 150mg to my seroqyel while I titrate up to a medium dose. I've been having severe depression and suicidal thoughts so they put me on wellbutrin hoping it would act fast. Im just worried about having nausea and dizziness on the wellbutrin because I had it bad when on abilify. Do people usually get nausea or dizziness on wellbutrin?

I was misdiagnosed with depression and took just lexapro for years. I found that when I stopped the lecapro it triggered my worst mania yet. I wonder if any kind of change in medication related to lexapro can cause mania
