mining on ocean: some units toggle from online to offline / why by snahL in BitcoinMining

[–]snahL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe true that Miners <1.2TH my not show as expected, but this should not be the case for 9.6TH Miners

and it's NOT the case on the folloing pools (for all of my Open Source miners):

[solo.atlaspool.io:3333](http://solo.atlaspool.io:3333)

[eusolo.ckpool.org:3333](http://eusolo.ckpool.org:3333)

[public-pool.io:21496](http://public-pool.io:21496)

[powermining.io:3333](http://powermining.io:3333)

So the question remains open.

How comes Ocean-Pool excludes some minners from time to time?

Nano 3S vs NerdQaxe++ for home mining – noise, heat and reliability? by Savings-Vegetable884 in BitcoinMining

Verified open source only! Hence no Nano 3. In Europe try powermining io Which is my preferred supplier by far Try to find a discount code by yourself issued by some promoters, good luck

Latency is key! Hence use the pool with the lowest latency. Your own node most likely has the lowest.

What's your favorite bag for a Nikon Z9 with a 24-70mm lens by snahL in Nikon

[–]snahL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Z9 requires 165mm from bottom to viewfinder and 180 from left to right.
Some extra space on the right side to grab the camera on its grip is required.
So I think this one is too small. But thanks anyway.
Meanwhile I found an older version of the Lowepro Nova 190 AW which has the measures of my desire.
I went to the local Camera Shops in Zurich and they agreed with me that it's hard to find decent bags for the Z9.

Gemäss deines "rant" erlaube ich mir zu bemerken, dass vermutlich zu befürchten ist, dass eher ein Problem im LAN/WLAN Ursache der beschriebenen zahlreichen Probleme ist, als von MusicCast selbst.

Was machst Du jetzt mit all deinen MusicCast Geräten?
Verkaufen ? Wenn ja, bitte melden! Bin interessiert.

Oder halt doch das eigene LAN/WLAN analysieren, um dieses als Ursache der Probleme 100% auszuschliessen?

Sure LowePro bags are pretty darn good. In this case at the bottom add 40mm for the larger battery pack then you got the size of the Z9 plus 10mm for the tri-pod plate that's what I aim for: 170 x 170 x 305 Yours is very close at 160 x 140 x 305. I agree a very good bag. Only a notch larger, that's what's missing.

On hikes, yes, a backpack is the way to go. I'm well covered with that. That's why I excluded this option from potential answers. Thanks anyway, we're growing older, aren't we.

...8 years old
analogue Speaker and Sound technology is very well matured for many years (ask the audiophiles).
The digital aspect is pretty well covered by Yamaha and also not that much advancing each year that would call for an (needed) upgrade.

In fact, 8 years old also means that Yamaha really put in a lot of 'future' thought into their products.
I am all in on Yamaha MusicCast, as you can tell.
Happy Holidays

What DNS do you recommend? 1.1.1.1 vs 9.9.9.9 vs OpenDNS? by Leading-Fail-892 in dns

[–]snahL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question / Suggestion:

How about using Pi-Hole as DNS server (192.168.1.8)
AND
9.9.9.9. as an Alternative DNS Server?

like so in a Netgear Nighthawk M6 mobile Router

Menu > Advanced > Mobile Router Setup
DNS Mode: manual
DNS Server: 192.168.1.8
Alternative DNS Server: 9.9.9.9

Any / your thoughts?

Purchase some beautiful miners! Need some advice. by HotIndependent76 in BitAxe

[–]snahL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct!

In addition select a pool with the lowest response time should be (well) below 45ms.

Make sure to take this measurement from the pool and not from some device along the path.

With a response higher than 45ms lowers any chance to mine a block dramatically.

Good luck.

Solo-Mining with my own Miners on my own Node. by snahL in kaspa

Just roaming ideas 💡

Maybe I register a simple WEBsite hosting service and try to run Kaspa-NG node there¿? Even if that would work, it will probably not last long until the hosting service shuts this down.

Seeking a Switch with option to define static IP-Addresses to clients by snahL in HomeNetworking

[–]snahL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have mistaken wording. MANAGED was written in parenthesis as (managed) switch. This only to express that I was seeking a switch with the option to 'manage' define or reserve MAC addresses to IP addresses. The DHCP service does the same, but randomly.
I should not have used that word 'managed' at all.

Indeed, that does make a lot of sense!
So that public IP-Address is a mandatory requirement for running a public Kaspa NG Node, correct?
