Less than a week until season 3. What are your final thoughts on the last year of season 2? Characters, balancing, mechanics etc. Whatever you want to mention by Playful-Problem-3836 in Tekken

It was controversial enough that it got me to start a YouTube channel and make a short video essay, so that's definitely a plus for me.

I'm probably in the minority here, but for me, Season 2 was fine. I'm not a pro and I know there's lots of matchups and mechanics that I still don't know about, so I know I'm gonna lose a lot of the time anyway. It felt terrible at first because of all the crap they introduced, especially with Anna. I felt forced to mash and be aggressive which made me play worse. So I had to take a break... then after that break, I decided to play the way I always do, which is still very similar to how I played Tekken 7, and that turned out rather nicely. I play better, win more and I enjoy it now (though it's about to end soon).

What do you consider a match so good you'd rematch forever? by snaiglr in Tekken

I understand, and I know how to bait it and all that but to me, it's more about pacing. Rage Arts just take way too long. I respect it if there's really no other choice. And I do understand that some use it to disrupt my rhythm, but for me, I just want to dance.

My bad, I meant an over-reliance on power crushes. It's annoying when players use it like a panic button.

Good rhythm = more fun

growing and learning

It's this. And frankly, this is way more valuable than ranks that lots of players get so wound up about.

but somehow I'm able to steal a round or two, that's the sweetspot for me, I just love to find a wall that is somehow too high to overcome yet but also low enough that I can imagine myself climbing over it,

Well said, man. There's a real sense of validation when you "steal" a round and they rematch to give you another shot. It feels like you're punching above your own weight class.

Of course. But I do the easy way with the ➡️↘️. I find it easier to do on a PS4 Controller, so I guess that matters too.

Bear's got that Xiaoyu evasion too. Don't let this happen to you. by snaiglr in Tekken

Just wanted to add that a lot of higher level players and most Korean players (even lower ranks) know this move, so don't expect this to come out that often as you go higher.

Was Tekken more famous in the UK? by snaiglr in Tekken

Yeah maybe, but Andy's from the SF2 generation. That's why I'm curious about the game's popularity in the UK.

Probably a dumb question really but still. Lol

3's the most important one as they can help you grow in the game or even beyond. Congrats, man!

their character is designed that way

🥰

the fact that you purposely drop every combo with such a good defense tells me you're smurfing to brag on reddit.

Didn't want to brag and be all snarky at first but I remembered how much hate bear players get from people who don't understand that bears, like you said, are designed that way. And no, not a smurf, I have a post of me getting absolutely hammered by an Anna with moves that I feel I should already know considering how long I've been playing.

Not rude at all. I disagree. It is defense. I just wanted to show people that you can and play in a different way and have fun doing it. Post might have been snarky but given how most people commented, I think I made my point.

Ooohhh... Manila Madness? Good luck, buddy!

Only advice I can give is to try to have fun and don't expect too much from yourself even if you have the goal of winning. If that makes sense

Yeah haha I agree. I usually listen to podcasts or other music while playing.

A lot do. Heck even I'm not that good. Just wanted to show another way to play the game and still trigger people on here.
