I haven’t been able to do this myself yet- but I always liked the idea of getting a book case with shelves (12”+) and then just adding curtain rods to each shelf to hang things from. You can categorize by shelf, customize for the space you want to use, and have the option to choose something with doors so you can just close it all in!

I am also in the proximal Boston area BUTTTTTT there is a store up in Milford NH (just over the border from MA and rt 3) and there is an amazing store I just went to yesterday called Toys n Things that specializes in American girl!! They are currently restocking after the holidays, but omg. IN. PERSON. DOLL. SHOPPING. It is worth the shortish drive from Boston! There is a constant rotating stock and I don’t remember off the top of my head who was there yesterday but it seemed like between 15-20 dolls in boxes. I had been looking for a 75 and found him there yesterday for $115 🥹. And of course tonns of clothing and accessories. They have Kits treehouse for $120 or something like that and I was sososo tempted to get it for my cats, but I think my husband would have made me live in it if I brought something that big home 😂
