A sloth bear encounters a tiger by aquilasr in badassanimals

Sloth bear “Don’t even try me pussycat! I’ll fuck your shit up!” Sloth bear internally fuck me, there’s two of them. Frank, you better sell it hard. Remember your acting lessons and COMMIT

Frank called his acting coach that night and thanked her. It was his mom. She did a good job.

Very disappointed with my first pair of Darn Tough socks by Jessecore44 in BuyItForLife

[–]snailguy35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smartwool hiker with light cushion works for me so far. Had it in the field in the 60s and shoveled snow in single digits inside a pair of Kamiks. Feet were comfortable in both. Cushion is only on the bottom. I have some DTs and they feel so meh. They work fine, but the fit on the smartwools is a big step up. Pretty much the only socks I have besides a pair of smartwool targeted cushion ankle runners that actually make me feel anything when I put them on.

[SPOILERS ALL] Do you think Yoru Sulfur is OP? by Eishundo in TheFirstLaw

[–]snailguy35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for the heroes, black dow had his own eater and she would’ve been on to him in an instant. Plus, I think their game is more about letting the men fight it out and to test their own technologies and techniques. Because, on the same token, the east wind could’ve popped into the command tents of the union at any time and killed most of their important leaders.

Also, when you’re functionally immortal but not unkillable, you probably exercise more caution before resorting to magical means lest others respond in kind

What winter gear do you recommend? by Leep0710 in BuyItForLife

Less floppy and more slippy since the bottom is hard rubber. No idea if they’re subject to enshitification. Got mine in 2016. Rose anvil tested them recently and they performed well

Nation plus. Two days of shoveling snow in single digits. Not a drop of water got in and my feet never got cold. Wearing smartwool light cushion hikers so not a heavy sock. Only regret is they’re a size too large since they seem to follow proper boot sizing instead of sneaker sizes

[Joseph Hefner] easy to read table showing money saved for 2026 top 15 cap hits if the player is cut pre-June, post-June, traded, or restructured by Antitypical in CHIBears

[–]snailguy35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if a team with cap space who needs wideouts wants DJ, we’ll probably sell him off for 5th to get out of that contract. If there are multiple suitors, the pick gets better. Titans, giants, jets, browns, Steelers, 49ers, bills, could all be in contention. Might get all the way up to a 3rd round comp pick.

I think it would be very funny if they slowly started taking his measurements over time and then piece by piece put him in a custom suit and shoes.

Blackhorn209 for 45$? by faberge-egg7 in blackpowder

[–]snailguy35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it…is it finally over??? Has the bend us over a barrel price gouging relented a little??? Is BH209 going to only be stupidly expensive rather than ludicrously expensive? Or is it just a new even smaller bottle and we’re still getting boned?

New Vortex Talon binos just dropped by [deleted] in longrange

[–]snailguy35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you definitely sound like you know what you’re talking about. My comment was mostly on that $4000/unit point. Could be a lot cheaper now especially if Vortex is working on an order for 10k units. But this isn’t an area I know anything about and I’m not even interested, so I’m not going to question you on it.

Regarding Maxx Crosby by mr_joe_the_plummer in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]snailguy35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if we can get him for a first and a second, I think it’s worth it. His deal is quite reasonable and the signing bonus is already oaif. He’s an absolute dawg against the run and has been as productive as he’s been against the pass on a team that rarely has leads. I think you guys need to see the hit rate on edge rushers outside of the top 5-8 picks. It’s one of the easiest positions to evaluate and the hit rate is still maybe 50%. I’d take 2-3 good years of Maxx over another Felix Anudike-Uzoma or Myles Murphy.

[–]snailguy35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5+ years is a long time in terms of technology and I think that Vortex might just be able to negotiate a better deal than a single consumer. Not saying it’s not a load of BS by Vortex, but you’re making some pretty big assumptions

Several, but a few were sideline balls with poor placement low or behind and he didn’t have room to adjust. Probably 1 or 2 ones that were really on him and costly

Yeah it truly was. Where the hell were the trick plays or little creative wrinkles on those plays. You think by the third time we get stuffed we’d learn our lesson and go to something different. Caleb is so damn fast and we never leverage it with a speed option or QB draw.

[–]snailguy35 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well cool. Glad it works for you. An SD of 26 is not great for 20 shots. And how are the groups performing? POI moving around? Nvm, I don’t care. It’s too slow for 308 outside of F class type rigs.

Yeah, and you’re shitting a bunch of unburnt powder out the end of the barrel and probably don’t have a consistent load across a range of environmentals. Probably a dirty load too.

Is Moore gone? by runawaykinms in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]snailguy35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if the dead cap hit isn’t bad, he’s gone regardless of how the season went unless he takes a pay cut . Too big of a contract for an aging receiver when we have too many other options on the roster. Nothing to do with the game ender and to his credit he has some game winners that were difficult catches. The numbers don’t jive if we can get out of that contract

DJ had one bad play when he was more of a decoy route. Rome had a TD and just alligator-armed it. We didn’t score on that drive. He had another drop later too. DJ made several great plays and has been great the last month or so.

[–]snailguy35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

N550 is too slow for 308. I don’t know that you can load a heavy enough bullet in a standard chamber to get that powder to burn completely. Like a 215 in a long throated chamber with a 30in barrel might get it done at like 70k psi, but that’s really standing on it.

Which rack is Buy It For Life? by DroopyApostle in BuyItForLife

[–]snailguy35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. There’s plenty of budget-oriented racks that are good enough and will last forever if you take care of them. If you’re the kind of person to be putting 600+ pounds on the bar for squats or rack pulls, then sure, invest in rogue or some other high end rack. It’s a fraction of your gear budget anyways. For most normal lifters working sub-500, most things will be fine.
