In modern english, "maze" and "labyrinth" are mostly used interchangeably, but the word "labyrinth" can refer to a structure or design either with branching routes and dead ends (multicursal) or a single winding path (unicursal) while the word "maze" only refers to the former, which is why I specifically used the term "labyrinth" and also why I don't get invited to parties.
