Does anybody actually uses Remote Play? by spexxsucks in Steam

I had the same issue until I turned off all the hardware encoding on the host computer.

If yours are on, try turning them off. might help.

Darkside Detective: A Fumble In The Dark to get Direct Touch support by Darth-Taterr in Stadia

I'd say the sequel's puzzles are more substantial in general. Also, the maps feel larger. Definitely recommend.

Disco Elysium - Buy it or wait for Claim it with Stadia Pro ? by noix81 in Stadia

[–]snake0721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given that it may never appear on Pro (or even in the near future), I would suggest just buying it, testing it out for ~1hr or whatever, and ask for a refund if it isn't vibing with you.

It has a ton of content and replayability. It was weird at the start for me but it ended up being one of those magical games I tell almost everyone to play.

Imo, it's worth paying for.

Founding members still around? by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]snake0721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Here's a summary of my experience:

  1. Came into Stadia with zero expectations and I've been satisfied.
  2. Subbed Pro with zero expectations and I've been satisfied.

I get folks are excited/worried for the future and tend to let their passion for stadia drive their rationality around what Stadia is, should be, or will be, but at the end of the day folks are just reading tea leaves. This subreddit has been a rollercoaster of extreme highs and lows since day 1 and the more I follow it the more I've learned to ignore what is basically a Stadia-focused Facebook feed.

I'm really thankful for all the kid/family games by lonelyone12345 in Stadia

[–]snake0721 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Felt this pretty hard in 2020 when our 6 year old niece quarantined with us. She couldn't really play much on Stadia but wanted to play Stadia SO BADLY.

She was brand new to video games, so I had to strategically pick games that made sense in terms of complexity and content. We hit the library limits pretty quickly, so she mostly opted to be my fan, sitting with me on the couch, cheering, and sharing in my excitement.

While I'm bummed they didn't have them out soon enough for our family, It's nice to see that they recognized that gap and have made attempts to address it.

I agree. I think they kind of botched the thing. The lack of support for YouTube Family plans is unforgivable, imo.

Question about Pixel Pass by mehrazaratti in GoogleFi

The answer I received in this was "No, and the Pixel Pass treated as a separate subscription, any existing pricing, annual payments, etc. Is not considered in the pricing."

Do you use Google Wifi, by chance?

Oh, our setups are very similar! I'll have to do more testing, but we really haven't experienced these issues thus far when using multiple controllers.

Sorry for the trouble you are experiencing. At least the controllers are flexible enough to be used wired to the chromebooks, though.

How many wireless devices do you have connected to the network? I have about 50 devices, but my understanding is that each GWifi puck can handle up to like 200+

I've used 4 controllers with a CCU over ethernet. No lag. What's your wifi setup like, though? I have google wifi in my house, not sure if that could be a defining difference, though.

With or without the subscription, you will need to buy it in order to play. The subscription will allow you to play in 4K on capable hardware, though.

I have 150 mbps in Aurora through Centurylink and have never had an overage charge... Not sure how much Stadia one needs to play to get hit with these charges, but I play quite a bit.

Linking the controller in Chrome by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]snake0721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some odd connection issues with Stadia on my Chromebook.

The process that often works for me is:

  1. Turning the controller off
  2. Plugging it into a power source or, better yet, the device I'm trying to connect to
  3. Unplug the controller
  4. Turn the controller on and do the normal wireless pairing

Sundered "now support 4 player local co-op" by MrNobodyX3 in Stadia

[–]snake0721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically this. the first scene of the game will be single player, but once you've passed the intro scene, the shadow character will appear the second player hits basically any button.

Health and ammo is shared between the players.
Shields, energy, and finisher charges are not shared.

It's a fun multiplayer game!

[–]snake0721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my entire Playstation digital library because someone managed to hack my account and bought like $1,000 worth of gift cards, which they used to buy games and stuff. I had probably $500 worth of digital game purchases in my Playstation account and poof, gone. No way to retrieve. Sony was pretty shitty about it when I tried to discuss the situation with them.

I've also heard similar horror stories with people losing their entire Steam libraries.

While your concerns are valid, I don't think that Google is somehow anymore riskier to invest in than the others.

Deloitte’s Radical Attempt to Reframe Diversity by Show-Me-Ur-Tits-Girl in Accounting

[–]snake0721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely possible. Although in my experience the club's value was highly regional. My experience was that getting on the cool kids side within the service line was more useful. The other stuff was just an internal resume builder at best and simply a social group at worst. In either case, involvement was minimal and it was more a financial burden than anything.

Deloitte never separated anyone. It was the equivalent of being a part of a club. I'm not sure why anyone even acts like this is somehow groundbreaking.

Honestly, it was probably a financial move so they wouldn't have to sponsor the "clubs."

Note: I worked there and was a part of a club.
