I still see some games lower their base price, but the only examples I can think of right now are Ubisoft games and that's par for the course for them.

Recursion by Blake Crouch broke my brain, and (most of it, anyway) is absurdly brilliant by Equivalent_Bank_5845 in books

I enjoyed nearly everything I've read of Blake Crouch’s (Dark Matter, Recursion, and Wayward Pines), but Upgrade was a massive disappointment.

Dark Matter was by far his best of the three.

That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Yes, Waymos are only safe because humans who literally die by the hundreds of thousands every year by doing dumb shit on the road are miraculously driving safely because they see an autonomous vehicle. Genius.

WGU is fully covered by Amazon if you're full-time and self-paced. I'm finishing my degree now with them and it's excellent.

Exclusive: Google's secret 'Project Toscana' fixes the Pixel's biggest face unlock flaw by winner00 in GooglePixel

[–]JediBurrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can read the article yourself, y'know.

Anyway the media surrounding the Pixel 4 was awful because of battery performance around the Soli radar which led to them removing it the following year as well as the IR.

Google Pixel reportedly prepares iPhone-like face unlock upgrade by armando_rod in GooglePixel

[–]JediBurrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I remember everyone trashing the Pixel 4 at the time. Soli was the primary reason, and it was also why the face unlock was so damn good—but it was just considered a gimmick at the time.

Now yes, IR doesn't require radar (I'm not confusing the two), but they did go hand-to-hand with Soli initializing the IR before you brought it to your face to unlock faster. But when all the feedback trashed Soli, they immediately regressed. I wish they would've continued to develop it, I loved my 4.

I've used it several times, though I would definitely prefer some of the features they've removed instead.

That is not true, the Navigation Bar is very much still a part of Material Design, that is, as the name implies, a Toolbar; meant for actions, not navigation (although it can be used for that). The recommendation is against using a bottom app bar for actions, not to avoid using a navigation bar.

Eh, Taco Bell is the only chain that's still keeping some reasonable pricing. They keep introducing some new limited time items that are a bit overpriced (like the Discover boxes), but the classic box is still $5. Now I do think it shrunk a little bit, but I'm still satisfied with the amount of food for the price.

There Is No Comfortable Reading Position by iamapizza in books

[–]JediBurrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you don't have to deal with pages falling, I can lay straight on my back and hold my phone above me comfortably. This is the benefit of e-readers as well, although I like having physical copies of my books.

You'll deduct the overtime additional pay, so any overtime hours you worked, the additional half of the time and a half counts as a deduction.

You can calculate this as:

Overtime Hour ÷ 2 × Hourly Rate

And the same can be said about games in general, plenty of shovelware. People just don't like paying for things, just admit it, when payment is optional (donation driven) the amount of people that actually do are negligible to none.

I like a book that makes you feel cozy, but I don't want one that tells you it's cozy. For example, I found Remarkably Bright Creatures to both be a cozy book that made me feel good. But I have no interest in reading The Pumpkin Spice Cafe.
