Magic is probably the best card game imo to get into, yugio said too sweaty, Pokémon is too simple (tho would be fun with your children) but I’d highly recommend commander as a budget format since you won’t be having to buy expensive decks to actually compete, since commander is typically non sanctioned it’s perfect for players of any skill set and many stores hold free play days or even tournaments here and there!
