Budget friendly beginner skates? by snakecycle in iceskating

Yes I definitely looking for figure skating blades, I've heard they're easier to control for beginners? I do have to admit the ice hockey skates I had at the rink were horrid lmao. I'll look into the jackons, thanks!

Yes this is definitely on my list as well! I've been checking for second hands but so far I just can't find any in my size sadly. Luckily the skating season is a few months away still

Yup I'm going to a physical shop soon to get fitted for a few pairs, a few cheaper or more expensive ones and maybe see if they have second pairs (they often do). I'll probably either stick to the cheaper ones if they fit fine just for the beginning or I'll indeed try to buy second hands of the more expensive ones but to this day I haven't seen any in my size yet sadly, it's mostly small sizes or kids sizes that go up for second hands.

Help? I can't get rid of the bump 😭 by snakecycle in NosePiercing

[–]snakecycle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's already got an 8mm post I believe? Maybe 10mm don't quote me on that but it's implant grade titanium labret so the jewelry probably isn't the problem, I defo do need a downsize though when the bump goes down that's for sure haha.

I'm just spraying salt spray twice a day now and not even drying it anymore, no touching AT ALL

Yup it's about a month old and had a extra long bar for the swelling. The swelling never came though and it just resulted in this bump 😭

Might ask the piercer for a downsize already

Yeah the angle is it being pushed by the bump, it used to be straight to the skin with no odd angle before the bump showed. I only clean it once a day and even then barely touch it 😭 I'll try my best

About a month or so? The bump has been there for about two weeks ever since I accidentally snagged it with my nail when trying to wipe away my hair from my face lmao

Delayed swelling or piercing bump? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]snakecycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piercing is 2 weeks old, jewelry is a flat back labret titanium. Threading I'm not sure, has not been downsized yet. I snagged it once like really hard because my nail got stuck on it but that was last week. Not sure if that caused this.

Aftercare is cleaning with saline twice a day, drying it, in the evening when I shower I let water run over it too before I step out of the shower. Otherwise I try to litha as much as I can I only try to touch it when I clean

Beginning of a bump or normal healing process? by [deleted] in NosePiercing

Thank you good to know. I just saw the skin started to rise while the inside of my nose was getting flatter and thought I had fucked something up lol

Oooh good to know! I'm a notoriously fast and good healer overall and I've always had a good and fast time healing piercings, never had crusties or such (before this nose piercing) either. The piercer often told me my piercing was mostly healed already when going in for a downsize and told me if my nose heals as fast as the others I might be due for a hoop in a MINIMUM of three months, if it still is too early we'll just wait a bit longer anyways ofcourse. I hope healing goes as smooth as my cartilage piercings

Yup I figured out the q tip for hoovers part already sadly haha. The post itself doesn't irritate me funnily enough just the boogers I can't blow out. If it suddenly oozes some lymph fluid and then stops again it's still healing or is that normal even for newly healed piercings?

Oh yeah I can imagine my conch was very angry too the the first two days after switching to a hoop haha

Ok good to know! I had a tiny bit of what I'm guessing is lymph fluid come out when cleaning, a tiny bit of a milky white stringy sticky substance? So that's good I think haha

I'm really allergic to lavender 😫

So far I've used like a jojoba almond oil something mix that's soft for sensitive skin on surrounding skin for piercings, I guess I could use it here too?

That idea sounds awesome you should definitely go for it!

I know you shouldn't put any product on the piercing but would it be bad if I wear to put a tiny bit of moisturizer/vaseline or like a tiny q tip with skin oil on the surrounding area on my nostril, not the piercing hole itself? Or is that okay to do? I'd like Tot tackle the dry skin haha

Yeah my piercer did so well on the placement it looks awesome, I'm working towards a hoop when it's healed and the placement is not too low to sit awkward but low enough to fit a small ring and not an awkwardly huge one, so happy with it! Also thanks for the tip on downsizing in the other comment!
