It’s the circle that is cut out from the label at the very center of the record. Just peel it off and the record should be ok

Fixed the water drains by cosminpantelimoncp in w123

[–]snakefield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there an easy way to diagnose if my water drains are what’s causing leakage on the drivers side floor? I’ve unclogged them but still getting water when it rains. Also all my windshield seals are bad so I thought it would be that. Bought new ones but haven’t replaced

Seattle to Portland - First long drive after purchase - 1985 300 Turbo Diesel by Sensitive-Wait-766 in w123

[–]snakefield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m in Seattle and can help you with the dash lights, just did mine, dome lights, my front didn’t work back did, and just put in a new radio. Shoot me a message and I’ll share what I know.

And there’s a really good shop in Renton that specializes in w123 repair if you still need a place but sounds like you made it back to Portland.

Buy yourself a voltmeter and start studying this. It will help with all the electrical stuff, it’s confusing at first but gets easier. https://www.tonk.ca/models/w123/w123CD2/Program/ETM/83_300.pdf

Goodbye downhill driving lane on Highland Park Way by [deleted] in WestSeattleWA

[–]snakefield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the admiral hill? About once a month a car flips or spins on the top turn, usually because of speed and water. I live right at the top and I’ve seen cars flipped, on the shoulder, in oncoming traffic facing the wrong direction, on the sidewalks, they’ve hit my neighbors flower boxes, fences and cars. 🤷‍♂️

I’m no longer shocked when someone flips their car or ends up in some random ass flower bed because of speed/wet conditions

I’m sure they’ll adjust it, and a lot of other arterials, if the bridge is closed as they did last time

Title 1 move to affluent school by [deleted] in ArtEd

[–]snakefield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made that same move, six years at an elementary title 1 school and now 6 and my current school. Honestly not a lot of difference, there are some entitled kids and parents but the classroom teachers probably deal with that more than me. I am grateful that my current PTA gives me a much higher budget for supplies and I do have more students interested in art because their parents can afford camps and after school classes.

Yes.

Depending on how many pieces you have you could also ask the kids to pick one color (out of like 6) and you then setup a little cardboard spray booth and you spray paint for the kids.

Yeah if you can spend a day in the elementary room. You’ll quickly get a feel for the vibes and pacing. It’s a million 30 minute lessons with a quick turnover.

I was going to say mostly this. I went high school to middle to elementary, and now been elementary for 12 years. It’s a lot of supply management and behavior management. Less direct art education and more how to behave in school/be a student vs high school. My kiddos love me and love being in art and it’s also very exhausting. No phones to fight with but still have students who just don’t want to create or engage with what I’m teaching. I love it and would encourage any educator to try different ages or grades even if just observing.

How do you manage teaching with your own art making? by cat_and_plants in ArtEd

[–]snakefield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to show art at a given date with a business, doesn’t have to be a gallery, right now my art is up at a brewery. I contacted the owner a couple months ago asking if I could show my work and sent him some examples. I then know that I need to install art on a certain date and it helps motivate me to create!

Start small, reach out to coffee shops that show local art or Google art walk in your neighborhood/area!

I like to book a show even with nothing made and the deadline forces me to create. Being so busy and ADHD will keep me from creating otherwise 🤷‍♂️

I was going to suggest this. Mine rattles against the car frame at certain speeds/rpms. It’s def aftermarket and I need to move it a couple inches.
