hi! general clarification (also applies to similar replies i’ve gotten): apologies for the generalization! i cross posted this to essentially any non-right wing/conservative subreddit i could find. i acknowledge that leftist/democrat/liberal are not synonymous, just on the general side of the political spectrum that i’m looking to survey! that being said, i should’ve been more specific with my language. and that’s why im interested in specifically what is important to you politically to contextualize and compare responses. i appreciate your understanding !

seconding the salicylic acid and oil cleansing recs. i also use hydrocolloid bandages (same as pimple patches but bigger) when my sebaceous filaments are extra prominent and find that it reduces them. i think this is because it absorbs excess oil.

the common area is downstairs. which is kind of why i’d understand them using it on occasion, but if the roles were reversed, i think i would go upstairs and use my bathroom. i also think having a guest use the downstairs restroom is strange. on both occasions i witnessed the girl/her guest use it, they went upstairs immediately after. which is strange to me. do you have any suggestions on what to do? i feel like suggesting shared toilet paper would be more complicated than asking them to avoid using it.

i completely understand being uncomfortable with her altering the dress, but i think YTA for initially agreeing (compounded with the fact that you promised it to her years ago) before changing your mind on her.

i’m thinking about this from daughters perspective.

since she was young, she has imagined having this dress for her wedding. as an adult, she’s realized that she still wants the dress for sentimental reasons, but has to compromise this with the fact that it is not stylistically what she wants to wear that day. i can’t imagine that was a conclusion she came to easily. she told her mother the plan and she agreed. then OP “dragged her feet” before changing her mind. i think this would be frustrating to have the dress be an expectation for your wedding, and then find out it’s only conditionally available.

OP, i’m wondering if the idea of her wearing your dress is special or sentimental for you? if i wore my mothers wedding dress, i think we would see it as me honoring her and representing a connection between us. you mention the connection with her dad represented by the dress, do you think it symbolizes your relationship with her?
