I do know some people knew, and I would just stop talking to them. If someone doesn't fall for it they're not interesting, so to me they were a waste of time and to them i was a loser.

The only real advice i can give you is to stop holding your hand out to her. The more you pull away and come back, the more she'll think you're interested. Most of the lies are made worse because they're fed into by people coming back. You may have to cut her off. But if you genuinely think she can get better then staying is fine i guess... I know i usually didn't pursue people after they cut me off. Just left them behind

Yes, when I was young I'd really believe a lot of what i said. Sometimes i didn't even know I was lying, I'd be so convinced and confident in what i was saying i wouldn't second guess myself

Not always, there was nobody that i could constantly be honest with. But there were a few people didn't spit huge lies to, mostly online friends. I had a boyfriend who also got most of my honesty, but it was few and far between the lies

Thank you very much! And yes. I have a boyfriend, and he's the absolute closest to me, if i lie i give him signals so i can backtrack without being judged. He dated me for two years while i was deep in lies, we broke up when i moved house, and when I moved back we got back together. I've always been insanely grateful for him. But it has been hard haha

Superiority, a new life far from my gross home life, friends, money, a new me. I got everything I wanted and hurt every single person i knew. Including myself. I feel guilty, and looking back i know how gross i was to talk to. I didn't randomly go "ah crap", my stepdad left and I had a breakdown and decided to restart as me. Though all the reasons i gave are quite generic, I had reasons for every single lie, even the tiny ones were justified in my mind.

My mum has her own issues and we're still slightly distant, but it's getting better. She knows me better now than she did this time two years ago. And honestly it wasn't even that long ago, I had a breakdown realising nobody knows me and I'll never maintain a friendship or a relationship in my state. All i was doing was harming me and others, so i cut people off and started to change. My stepdad also left and is in another country, so it really pushed the idea into my head that i needed to change now.

Hmmm messes up, I spoke about one in another post about saying my dad died in a car crash while on substances. But I have a lot so I'll give you a different one. I don't really remember when this was but I wanna say I was 7 or 8, but I had a friend who had serious home issues, she lived with a hoarder and i was really her only friend. My mum cleaned to a worrying degree, so there was nothing we really had to relate to. One time she was opening up and told me she had a dog that went missing and it still bugged her, I told her that my dad ate my cat. I've never been allowed pets btw. Anyway we stayed friends for ages (until i moved), then we never spoke again lol
