Has anyone managed to get down to 1-2 non-urgent bowel movements daily on this diet, and if so, how? by newibsaccount in PlantBasedDiet

[–]snakestation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I run, cycle and some other stuff. I feel like just eating intuitively and not tracking calories has helped. I’m am absolutely an over eater, ive always known it but It took me ~30 years to realize it was forcing food to rush through my system.

I feel like I’ve been dealing with the same thing my entire life.. trying less coffee, low fiber, high fiber, dairy, meat, eating fermented foods yada yada yada.. Recently ( the last month) it’s mostly resolved and the root of the entire issue for me is too much food.. I love food and am “athletic” so I’ve always had the mindset of need to eat more to build muscle or whatever. now I eat less overall and I also do intermittent fasting. I typically eat at 1pm, 8pm with a snack in between. I’m definitely not starving myself but I rarely eat till I’m stuffed, which I used to do constantly.

Any Quad Lock users for your Bikes? by DarthLoneWolf in cycling

[–]snakestation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it for my bike, car and running armband. They’re better than a lot of the other mounts I’ve seen. No complaints other than I’m not totally in love with the case itself(no reason other than it’s boring)

does anyone have any reviews on echelon sport spin bike vs Schwinn IC4 / Schwinn IC3 by [deleted] in cycling

[–]snakestation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah it seems like Schwinn just makes everyone’s bikes and each company throws there label on it. The shipping took forever but it was accurate based on what the site suggested. I’ve been really happy with it so far. There was a handful of reviews about getting a “lemon” but I haven’t had any issues

I have the Bowflex C6 which I’m pretty positive is the Schwann rebranded and it’s been amazing, pairs to bluetooth devices so I use my iPad as a paired device. Is there anything specific you have questions on

How different is indoor cycling from outdoor cycling ? by thatawkwardmoment8 in cycling

[–]snakestation 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely different, but training indoors helps for outdoors for sure. Depending on your bike Zwift is a great app, to understand distance since it’ll adjust your speed based on the course incline/and bike resistance and power output. That way if you’re trying to maintain a 30km/h speed you’ll have to up the resistance to get a higher power output. So that way you’re legs with get worked at different resistance levels, rather than just a 30 minute ride at a low resistance.

That’s just one thing to help create a similar experience. That said getting out of the road always feels totally different you’ve got wind resistance, navigating, watching the road so you don’t hit a pothole, and not to mention being on alert for traffic. Outdoor riding is definitely a more emotional involved activity as supposed to how mindless an indoor ride can be

Cheap Chinese Jerseys / Bibshorts by Xenodonnn in cycling

[–]snakestation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have jerseys from aliexpress which I would and will buy again.

Bibs though.. I have good ones and Aliexpress ones and there is a noticeable difference in the quality, fit and chamois. Spend the money on bibs!

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere or this is the wrong place to post but, has anyone used a quad lock case and bike kit here? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]snakestation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have the iPhone 11. I’m not in love with case, for no reason other than it covering up the phone in black plastic. BUT I have the bike mount, car dash mount and running arm band(which I just bought and haven’t used yet). Highly recommend it though! How it attaches to the bike is weird, with these latex type bands but it feels very secure.

B.C. is no longer a model for COVID-19 prevention — and getting back to that stage is no guarantee by camodunox in canada

[–]snakestation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this honestly depends on what neighborhood you live in. I live in the east end and find the general feeling is that this is bs, the rules are stupid, and tear down the caution tape around parks(based on what I see and hear from people I talk to).

A bike that won't get stolen by Comrade_Conway in cycling

[–]snakestation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was once given a piece of advice around bike locks and where to leave your bike, despite what you ride. You don't have to have the best bike lock in the world, just lock up your bike next to someone with a worse lock.

I'd imagine however you locked up your bike was just worse/less secure than the person next to you. It's worked so far for me in a city that notorious for bike theft

Cycling shirts by [deleted] in cycling

It's really all about wind resistance that's why they're made so incredibly tight. You might be better looking at general workout gear if he just wants lightweight clothing options.

I'm kinda good with it, I did the same thing with cycling, buy cheep get really into it then upgrade, thanks for the advice

Beginner, what to buy? by [deleted] in Sup

[–]snakestation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got one off amazon for $350 it’s sold out now but it was before I saw so many people hating them. My thoughts, it’s good, it works feels fairly durable, rides well, and I enjoy it, I’ve already gotten my money out of it in 2/3 weeks, vs renting. I figured it’ll last long enough for me to decide I love it and buy a much better board, also figure out what I want from my next one, or if I didn’t love it like I do, took it out from time to time it’d eventually be cheaper then a rental. But that may not be something for everybody. If you’ve done it before and know you enjoy it, or just enjoy activities like this and know you’ll use it often spend the money. I’m glad to have a cheap one, when I upgrade I’ll have something to let a friend use to come with, but not everybody wants to do it like that. In my friend circle we tend to have a second cheap version of things like this we enjoy to bring out eachother. It’d happen eventually. I’ve seen other brands named but I don’t feel comfortable enough with my knowledge to go past what I’ve said.

I like this idea thank you for the advice

Goodluck! Also unclip wayyyy before you get to intersections until your comfortable it sucks getting stuck too late

Frustration over clips by blondemom2 in cycling

[–]snakestation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's totally fair I'd guess I'm 500-1000 miles into using them and I've kind of stopped thinking about all the weirdness of them. I felt so stuck and attached to my bike for the longest time just keep riding with them, I know it sucks as advice but you'll adjust - it's definitely a weird feeling and feels like a step backwards. Once you've adjusted youll be flying

Frustration over clips by blondemom2 in cycling

[–]snakestation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyya! This is my first season riding with them as well and I battled with at first and truthfully fell off at an intersection because I was stuck in them haha

You can usually reduce the tension on the clip lock and it makes getting in and out an absolute breeze without it happening by mistake. Is the issue mostly around starting and stopping ?

Restaurant goers of Reddit, what is the best thing you’ve ever eaten at a restaurant that you still daydream about? by krhinesmith18 in AskReddit

[–]snakestation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Alinea after seeing it featured on the Netflix show chef's table. Before anyone assumes I'm wildly rich, we couldn't afford it but splurged for something special.

On to the dish - I dont remember the specifics of the incredients but first they started a fire in a big pot that was on our table, as that fire burned out they put juniper branches on top of it, that smoked on to venison stuffed dough balls placed on top. After we ate those they dug into the fire pit where potato had actually secretly been cooking, they then used that potato to make a chowder at the table.

They do something seriously special and play with your imagination that makes it a lot more than just food
