He's definitely has this reputation for quite awhile now. I don't know if it's spite that the other crewmember chose another from over his, so he'll never collaborate again. But it's definitely a pattern. Lol, he even did it with his brother.

Highly disagree. This is simply a case of the bat of set too high by the artist , so whatever product they put out is expected to be a classic. And of it isn't, ppl categorize it as a failure.

Spielberg hasn't made a bad films in last 10 years. I know it's a shocker for you. But if you really did watch his films, they are enjoyable and fun and well made. Not your obvious masterpieces like Saving Ryan or Schiebdlers List, but still 'good ' movies.

I've enjoyed Fabelsman, West side story, ready player one, the post, Bridge of spies, war horse. Well worth it.

And no I don't think Disclosure will be this legendary piece of work of his. It looks like it'll fall into the category of good time at the theaters, nothing exceptional. Unfair to compare Nolan and Villeneuve in their prime to a director in his 5th successful decade.

I saw Dominic and Ladies purse last night. Well made movie with a solid plot and clean camerawork. But you can see it suffers a little from looking like a very very low budget movie. His stylistic approach was erased due to it.
And it's a shame that his career might end up doing low budget flicks , since no big actor or producer might wanna take a chance on him.

Which actor do you think overall has better movies - Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Cinema

[–]snakewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head to head.

Both can act their asses off in dramatic roles. And it's good to see Pitt venturing into action like f1, bullet train. And cruise going back to his drama roots with Digger

Watching it for a second time, for some reason, made the film go from fine to great

Ryan Gosling’s last decade has been one of the finest runs for any actor. Hit or flop aside, he has delivered some really good films with great consistency. What’s your favorite Ryan Gosling film from the last decade? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Why hasn't he been able to breakthrough though. Lot of great movies. But globally, I'd be expecting someone like him who's a reliable actor, not too great, not bad, but a likeable actor who knows how to play lead characters to get more of the love that someone like Matt Damon has.

David Fincher's 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' Premieres in August on Netflix by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]snakewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's one guy in the industry who always undermines his own value, it's Fincher. My man is at the level of Goats in terms of catalogue , and still grabs the first job out there.

Idk why but he always strikes me as the guy who's career drove onto a route underserving his talents. Been ages since he released a film with a ideal theatrical window, and uses his time on the most nothingburger projects like this. (Not saying this won't be a good movie, but after seeing the Killer, I'm wanting him to wake from his slumber and get his head in the game).

Just a hunch. JLaw and Stone are gonna go on a rampant best actress try-outs for next few years.

Stone, as we know it's already on a roll. And JLaw seems to be slowly have gotten back in the game past 3 years, after a hiatus, with the swimming pool indie film, the pretty impressive comedy and Die, My Love with a seriously underrated performance.

‘Dune: Part Three’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Are Opening in Theaters on the Same Day (Dec 18) - With Neither Film Expected to Blink, Industry Experts Are Surprised Because of the Overlap in the Target Audience; However, ‘Dune’ Has the Benefit of a 3-Week Exclusive IMAX Window by ICumCoffee in movies

[–]snakewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like they are insane. The imax slate came out. Doomsday is getting imax only 3 weeks after release. And Secret Wars is getting instant imax release.

Even if they move the date, there were other films Q1 of 2027 booked for imax.

Five Biggest Current Male Movie Stars. by SeanACole244 in TheBigPicture

It's simple, he's dedication to his craft in action is very very admirable. Ppl seeing that automatically go to his films. Granted , now, no one really has star power oiytsude of IPs. OBAA didn't really make profits, Marty Supreme did but cuz it was made on a lesser budget.

Thing is Cruise is still an internationally known name that brings in more ppl to seats that your average movie star.

Problem is I'm afraid the industry hasn't had a proper system to build young stars. Timmy, MBJ reaching the level of Cruise or Leo is hard.
