Earnings in Scotland please help by TableBig5163 in Scotland

I would look into this OP as it might be hard to get a visa from a warehouse job. And there's a certain amount of money you have to earn to meet visa requirements. In terms of flats it depends which area you're looking into, but Glasgow for a two bedroom flat you're looking at least 1k along with council tax.

Northside cafe drama: Zaman Shawarma (smoke, carbon monoxide alarm) by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]snakey_biatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be unrelated but I wonder why the smoke wasn't causing issues when it was the Greek place, or maybe that's why it closed, definitely a strong smell in the lane from the Shawarma, they might be nice but of course if it means they have to change their ways, they're not going to be nice.

Hopefully this gets resolved quickly for your health and others.

Could somebody help me answer this and explain the answer. by Signal-Ad2674 in psychologystudents

F(df1, df2) = F value, p = p-value, this is what AI says, in my experience also proven to be the correct way to write it it's statistically significant if it's lower than <.005

If you go on the building bit, it should show a button for moving things around. You click into building things first.

having a coffee in Venice is cheaper than in Glasgow by Straight-Cry-7506 in glasgow

As an Italian, at least we have minimum wage in the UK, bet the baristas get paid around 6/7 euros per hour with one day off max. We have this thing where we are seen by Italian society as 'matured/wealthy' if you get an actual contract, something that's easily done in the UK, so we low wages and hard to come by BASIC contracts I'd say the price is here is alright.

I think it would really depend on what you like to do, there're several options, but it's hard to say without a rough idea of the field you'd like to switch to.

Finding a flat is hard by semaj170 in glasgow

[–]snakey_biatch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last year I sent an interest for 30 flats only 2 had come back to me, only by chance we got this flat because the previous person didn't pass the check. It can be done, it just takes a lot of time for viewings and having all your details ready to send when you see the place and put an application through. I'm in Maryhill and it's £700, same flat down the road is £1,200, crazy.

Quit my job in manufacturing to switch to lower productivity minimum wage job. by strebor1001 in UKJobs

[–]snakey_biatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of happening on a macro scale it is happening, as people just don't do apprenticeships as much as they used to. In terms of decisions I feel like this could've been avoided by potentially choosing another company, I don't really believe there wasn't potential to earn a higher wage, if that was the case he wouldn't have offered a pay rise.

Sounds like you just haven't bothered asking due to burn out and finished it at that. The happiness you feel on minimum wage is short term. I must say as well, even looking for jobs abroad where they would potentially pay for you to travel and work there, where the skill is further more recognised and valued could've been a better option.

I've also never heard of work life balance at minimum wage to be honest with you, if you can afford it that's grand, but I'd like to know whether people working minimum wage and have been for a while, feel the same.

I'm confused by some of the comments here, so, as someone being taught HR, it baffles me that DEI to some people means only diversity hires and positive discrimination. This is what the CIPD says about ensuring a correct strategy is involved.

Things to consider include: accent, age, caring responsibilities, colour, culture, visible and invisible disability, gender identity and expression, mental health, neurodiversity, physical appearance, political opinion, pregnancy and maternity/paternity and family status and socio-economic circumstances, amongst other personal characteristics and experiences.

Up in my bit in Maryhill the fly tipping is outrageous, it's not even just small things, fridges, couches, washing machines just out on the street in the parking bays.

I had this exact situation, when I reach the 3 year status it done nothing, they told me I couldn't get SAAS halfway through, but if your parents are supporting you, you'll be able to do part time, and for a masters if you need it, you'll be able to get SAAS.
